Verizon Coverage and Amp'd Coverage

If you work in a location that sells both, please stop telling customer that they have the same coverage. They DO NOT! Amp'd uses the all digital coverage. Customers think they are getting the full Americas Choice coverage when in reality they are only getting the InPulse coverage. There is a HUGE difference.

Well Verizon next year from some articles will only include digital coverage from them and their partners as it has been reported they are turning off AMPS!

I have to agree I have both amp'd and verizon currently, I'm here in Chicago and service appears identical here. But my friend who also has amp'd recently drove to Florida to take his kids to disney world and he stated there were a lot of dead spots but his wife who has the new EnV from Verizon had absolutely no dead spots. From what I hear Amp'd cannot use any of Verizon's roaming partners they only use Verizon's native coverage which in itself is pretty huge... But not the same as America's choice which is awesome!!!

Well, I know for a fact that amp'd is using some of verizon's roaming partners. My brother has amp'd and he is able to use his on midwest wireless, a company verizon roams on around here.

Amp'd can make agreements with other companies just like verizon can. amp'd is just renting the use of companies towers, and as long as they are cdma, amp'd can use them if they make an agreement with the carrier.

A persons best bet is to go to amp'd website and do a coverage check for their area. From what I see, amp'd does cover a lot of the same areas as verizon does, but you will only be able to use the data, tv, music stuff on verizon's network.
