Voice Clarity Improvement???

I've read articles in Wireless Week and some of the other wireless news sources and it's in the works, but curious to know if anyone knows about upgraded voice clarity. Since voice is the main revenue driver it would seem prudent for the carriers to provide outstanding voice calls (better than landline). Thanks!
