Night & Weekends

Does anyone know if they will release a 7pm early start for night and weekends, We just left Att for verizon but are getting killed with the 9pm time...

doubtful. VZW believes that their robust network makes up for this time differential and they therefore do not need to compete in that arena.

Each and every carrier makes these judgement calls on what arenas to compete around. The approach is perfectly reasonable although I agree with you I hate the times.

It is not the 9pm start time that is killing you. It is the fact that your phone actually has siganl now and you are able to use it. Up your price plan a level or two and I am sure that you will be within the minutes.

Hi Z06!

Great question about 7pm for night time. It is something that VZW does talk about & they do want to stay competitive. Changing to 7pm nights effects several facets of the business. Cost & network traffic. The lost revenue means less money to continue to expand the network & add the fun stuff like 1x technology so you can surf the internet at broadband speeds, more people talking puts strain on the towers & are they capable of the extra usage in any given area? They have to plan for the contingincies before they implent. What sammy2 said was right, each carrier has to make those decisions on what they can offer as a company. VZW is focussing on giving you the best network & on the backend trying to figure out ways to cut cost down ...
