Handset Insurance Questions...

i wanna know

Aug 30, 2004, 8:44 PM
I'm up for my "new every two" $100 right now, but want to wait for some better phones to come out. My dilemma is...I have handset insurance on my phone and broke it today (it was stepped in half by someone a the store today on accident...it's a flip phone) and was wondering if they'll replace this phone and still allow me to get a new phone with the $100 later. Or, will they just make me use the $100 towards a replacment phone for this one.?

I just thought some of the Verizon Employees would be able to help me out here. If I go into the store they're going to make me doing something right then and there without giving me an options...I'm sure! Thanks for your help!

Thank you for your help. I guess another question would be...

I have an older Motorola v60(something) and it's discontinued...what kind of phone would they give me? Same phone, or a different one. And if it'll be a different one which one would it most likely be? I don't know if you would know, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

Thank you so much...you;ve eased my mind!

Another question...with the "New Every 2" will I be eligible for the discounts of signing a new 2-year contract. I am waiting for the Audiovox CDM-9900...it will be $219.00 with a 2-year contract along with a $70.00 Mail In Rebate (or something)...do I get this $70.00 off also? Or do they only give it to new custome...

The v60.. will be replaced with a phone with the most similar set of features they can access that works with the carrier. If you disagree wtih their choice you need to tell them before you accept it.

If the $70 off is a rebate for the audiovox 9900 then that will be available to you as well.

Mail in Rebates are still given to those with the NE2 option...so IF the price is 219.99 automatically take 100.00 off that so down to 119.99 then with the 70.00 MIR you basically pay 50 bucks for that phone after all is said and done...of course out of pocket you pay the 119.99...that is if it actually comes out that cheap... 😁

The thing with the insurance company is that they usually have a backstock of discontinued phones...this being the case most likely you will recieve the same phone...if they are out of your particular model they will match it up as best they can, meaning same price range, style(flip), same options and features ect.ect.
Hope this helps!
