Which Frequencies Does EV-DO Work Off of?

I hope someone well-educated can answer this. In which frequencies does VZW's EV-DO Broadband operate on? For example with Cingular they use 850/1900 for their Broadband, does VZW also operate their Broadband on 850/1900? Does the VZW signal have better penetration through houses? I have a DELL laptop with the integrated card but the 3G signal is so weak. However the VZW gets me at least 2 bars. I understand this has to do with tower placement and a host of other variables. But can someone quickly explain to me if the VZW signal (because it is CDMA) is stronger or penetrates better?

Thanks in advance,

Mike
