Problem

I have a problem, whenever I use my phone for a long period of time my battery meter goes down! What the hell! I paid good money for this thing and every night I have to charge it! Oh yeah, and sometimes when I don't have my phone on me, I miss a call, why can't Verizon do something about that?

Wow, I never had this problem with _______.

That first part would be funnier if I'd never had anybody say that to me. 😡

I spent 45 minutes explaining how to use voicemail to some moron, first thing this morning. Why can't people be bothered to read the damn instructions that come with things?

Oh thats nothing I had to spend 10 minutes today explain to a guy when he should and should not call 911.

Cust: If I have a flat tire do I call 911?

Me: No sir that would be something for AAA or roadside assistance...Dialing 911 would be for emergency situations only...

Cust: What kind of emergencies?

Me: Anything that would cause bodily harm or anytime you see somebody breaking a law, like stealing or break and entering, or assualt or murder...those issues would contitute you dialing 911...

Cust: ..........oh

My wife used to have Sprint and they charged something like $4.50 per call; So the call drops and she calls back expecting to have the fee waived for the second call.....uh, NO! Another $4.50 👿

Are you sure that is true? Sprint charges for calls to customer service? Wow, I'd better check my bill.
No carrier is dumb enough to charge customers to call customer service. Just another Sprint bash which of course has no basis in reality.
Now in the days before Sprint killed Claire anything was possible. Claire singlehandedly sent many customers to other carriers.

They don't any more, but I've heard from WAY too many different sources that this was once the case, so I'm inclined to lend it credence.

Once upon a time, yes, Sprint DID charge a couple of dollars to talk to a real live rep. Claire (may she burn in hell) was a free call, but with Claire you got what you paid for. Thankfully, they realized how stupid & anti-customer that was, and it died a merciful death very quickly. I think it lasted maybe a month, back in 2001 or early 2002.

It may be that some of the smaller affiliate Sprint carriers are charging for that service, I don't think Gulf Coast Wireless does.

As counterproductive and anti-customer service as the policy might have been, I have to admit a sneaking desire to be able to apply a fee like that on a case-by-case basis to CERTAIN customers... Actually, I once had a customer call to ask what the 1.29 "Tolerance Fee" was--researched the account and found it had been added by a CC rep after an escalated call. I was snickering all the while I was crediting the customer, since the charge had been set up as recurring and he probably hadn't noticed it the month before... 🤣

Oh, no doubt. When I worked at Radio Smack, I was constantly tempted to add a 'dumbass fee' on certain transactions. 'Tolerance Fee', huh? That's pretty clever.

Oh, **** that's god damned funny! """Oh, no doubt. When I worked at Radio Smack, I was constantly tempted to add a 'dumbass fee' on certain transactions. 'Tolerance Fee', huh? That's pretty clever."" That **** funny but, at the same time that's also why when I worked at Telespectrum in Buffalo, for Sprint PCS. Sprint had for a while dropped allowing the majority of Radio Smacks as you put from collecting anymore Deposits for service. Cause there were a mess of rep's nationwide fraudulently collecting them when it wasn't required. I only hope that those individuals eventually got caught and thrown in a fed pen. Those kinds of people just really piss me off. And deserve any punishment they may get.

Thats pretty god damned funny too, which I had access to doing something like that. What I would really like however is getting a actual money bonus after every time I correct one of sales on purpose foe-pa's that they create just so they can get there commissions. I heard from management during a meeting that VZW has decided since the vast majority of the US public that can get Wireless service already have it, and that they want to try and make efforts more toward keeping the customers they already have as opposed to trying to get more cx's. If this were actually true I think that commissions for sales aught to be eliminated all together. Though in reality that will most likely never happen.

First off, are you denying that sprint "charged" a fee? I think there are planty of former Sprint customer out there to back this up. I didn't say that they still do, and I'm not completely sure what that amount was. All I know is that they were unwilling to waive or credit the fee for her calling the second time. I wasn't trying to start a "bash".

Regarding calling Sprint PCS for cx service I remember when I worked there, you were not charged as long as you dialed the speed dial number for it from your hand set. I don't know about it these days. As far as VZW goes so long as you dial *611 there is no minutes burned, but if you use your hand set and call VZW cust serv. dialing the toll free#, that will burn your minutes, as well as calling any other toll free # too. 😲

Strike 3 my ass I have already gotten confirmation about the toll free versus *611. That has been a on going issue in this call center for some time now. Our project suport manager confirmed that directly from VZW. And besides that I have seen it on customers bills.

My friends father was a 911 dispatcher, you should've heard the stories he used to tell.

The best is when people call 911 to find out what time it is. You'd be surprised, it would happen more than twice a day at least. 🙄

Therein lies the problem.

If there were no stupid people, then there would be no retail customers for us intelligent workers to sell to!

We would be out of jobs in days.. Well.. Keep in mind the aggrevation level for us would go WAY down and our stress would go away and everyone would get 800+ minute plans and the quality phones..... Hmm..

oh the BEST was when someone tore off the front end of my car. They had a small child in the car with them and I called 911 to get some medical help (I wasn't sure if anyone in the other car was hurt) and get the police out ASAP. The call went something like this:

"911 Emergency center, this is Jane, how can I help you?"

"Hi, my car has just been hit in front of the Wal-Mart on Commonwealth."

"Please hold"
5 Min. later: "is anyone at the scene hurt?"

"I don't know, why'd you put me on hold? People could be hurt here!!!"

"That's not important, I'll send police and an ambulance right away............where did you say you were?"

Last time I call 911 lemme tell ya! 🙄
