Whats up VZW dudes and dudettes? My question is about the upcoming VZ Medioflo phones.

1. Will these phones include EVDO and Mediaflo or is Mediaflo a substitute?

2. About how much is this service going to cost?

3. Does VZ own this network or does Qualcomm?

Thanks for your responses 😁

Thanks for clearing that up for me! I wonder if HBO or Showtime will be offered. I would love to get the Wire, Rome, and Weeds on my cell phone (too much downtime between classes). If VZ or Sprint offers this, i would leave Cingy in a heartbeat.

Working with its key partner, MediaFLO USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of QUALCOMM Incorporated, Verizon Wireless expects to turn on the service in major U.S. markets in the first quarter of 2007. Since MediaFLO USA operates a dedicated multicast network that delivers programming in a linear format, the integration of V CAST Mobile TV with the MediaFLO USA service means that Verizon Wireless can offer customers the latest in mobile entertainment without impacting its award-winning voice services.

the u620 and the 9400 will be EVDO and MediaFLO capable

no word on price

Qualcomm builds the network for MediaFLO USA, Verizon has the 1st dibs on launch, Sprint wont have this till 4th Quarter supposively. The will be a limited launch in Jan in major cities. If you have EVDO, you may not have MediaFLO.
