It's out, but for US Cellular. 😢

It should, it's CDMA 1x compatible and uses the same frequencies... 😁

No it cannot. It was rejected for it's inability to pass some very crucial tests, and therefore was not granted Safe For Network.

As you know, there are ways to get it to work on Verizon even though it was not granted Safe For Network.

And the crucial test for which you are referring is the gps testing. Funny how it passes gps testing for USCC but fails on VZW. I'm told gps testing is a black & white test, so it either passes or fails. At least that's what I'm told. In fact, I was told testing had gone quite well with the latest round of software.

Here's my take: Verizon's marketing heads ultimately canned the phone. Probably were pissed USCC took it after all the delays and issues with it in testing at Verizon. Verizon likes to have exclusives and USCC sneaked in the back door while Verizon waffled. Moto would have to call it the v813 or something so its "exclus...

I can't confirm nor deny your statement.

What parts can't you confirm or deny? Just joking. 🙂

I know VZW rejected the v810 but only Motorola has stated this, and not officially. VZW still says its still in testing and does not know when it will launch. Wish a definitive answer will come. There are a lot of us who want to walk in a buy one and be done with all this b.s.

So its officially rejected and for good, i.e., Verizon will not further test it with updated firmware and software?

If that's the case, it looks like plan B.

as of 9/3/04 from MOTO

Regarding your concern, the V810 has recently been launched for US Cellular. The V810 phones available for purchase thru Motorola are locked for this carrier.

This unlock code is a code that is unique to your phone and is assigned by the original service provider so that you cannot take the phone to another carrier without their permission. The business (carrier) that the phone was originally manufactured for is the only one that will have this information. We do not know what it is.

You will need to talk to a technical support person at the company for which the phone was sold, for assistance. The technical support staff will probably need to know the Hex number off of the phone, under the battery to assist ...

So, US Cellular phones can be used on VZW with unlock codes, but Alltel phones can just be used on VZW with nothing done?

Am I right with this?

Well,

The funny thing to me is that if you look on the outside of the phone in the picture on that page it indicates Verizon branding on it.

My guess is it will be a mid-range phone for the x-mas season.

Verizon better start getting there crap straight with handset q/a and releases, the testing excuse is not working anymore.
