I think Verizon is just reallllllllllllly scared and mad about being left out of not getting the best new phone in the market. I've had over 50 calls since 9am this morning and about 25 or more walk in customers asking about the iphone and how they can get it...so Verizon watch out!

lol, actually i ended up selling those walk in Blackjacks, Treo 750 and 8525's so i think this news made a big difference today for me!! 😁

I am in a noncompetition area with Cingular, so I get very few people even looking at Cingular. But it was like when VZW had 50 kazillion ads for the overhyped chocolate phone. I sold few chocolates, but tons of 8300's and Razrs to these people. Lots of walkin traffic is always helpful, even when they are at Dominos asking about the Pan pizza for 10.99 (Pizza Slut). Guess who will probably still sell that customer?

Really though. Think about it. How many 5 to 6 hundred dollar phones would you sell? A few, but not many. Total predictions are less then 1% anyway. That is huge numbers for Apple (and profit, I am sure) but no so many overall. So if you get an extra hundred people asking about the phone, you should land only 1 on that phone, but should land 35 to 40 extra people on something else.

I have to say the 9400 looks nice with mediaflo though.

besides all the OVERHYPED phones VZ comes out with...are usually just that...over hyped!

Not saying that but you guys are going all crazy over one phone which is coming this quarter. Yes its a big deal that Apple decide to help you guys out in sales 🤣 but I have stong faith that our launchs will also bring its own crowed equal to your 😁

Just a side note but i got to grope the 9400 and 620 @ ces on monday (could'nt find the other samsung...) and they are both pretty fantastic and also got some hands on time with the shine which an lg rep told me was being prepped for a verizon launch later this year i was really impressed

We are not over-excited, you are. You all have been obsessed with this phone. Look at how many threads you have dedicated to the iPhone in the VZ forum. Thats what makes it so funny. I have never seen some individuals so threatened before. But on the good side, you guys do have some nice handsets working there way down the pipe. Its okay Apple chose Cingular, it is not the end of the world 🤣

No- I'm good on the hugs I carry the 8300 and it works well but its just another boring crippled clone 😁

If you read my post I didn't say they were the greatest, but then again I don't think they suck. I sell Sprint/Nextel also and think VZW's phones are much better then Nextel IDEN series and as nice as Sprint's. I am not a phonequeer who thinks that the highest end phone is the ONLY phone. They are all communication tools. Some with more stuff then others. Sobeit. Some are unreliable...some are ok.

I find someone that says everything one vendor carries is "pathetic" and "all suck" is you being a freaking straight up hater. That is more pathetic then a "fanboy".

Like I said, VZW isn't the only carrier and phones I have...and I still like them. Not all, but some. I wish they would allow full bluetooth, but can't do anything about that. Also, the same could be said that because you feel that all vzw phones suck and if people disagree with you they "must be fanboys on koolaid" . . . that seems pretty narrow minded to me...

thats true but I'm not the only one that feels that way, the majority of phone geeks know that verizon phones are the lease innovative...many cell geeks choose verizon out of need do to cingular sub par network... but that can't last forever right?? one day cingy will finally get its act together, and then why the hell would anyone bother with verizon? Right?

Maybe then VZW will push phones that are "cooler" by general population's definition. As long as their product is selling and at the high clip they are, why change. If the market starts to change...then change with it...or do like VZW has done and set the standard for the market.

Again, I have used other carrier phones. I still like VZW's as much as any other. The ONE complaint is the limited bluetooth. Take the 8300. That is an awesome phone. Great capabilities.

Yep I have the 8300 and it is good solid phone

BTW, when chocolate came out it was the coolest thing since hard candy. I wasn't impressed...never have been, but the general population fell for it...
