1. Their data is really expensive, the most in the industry. And to fully experience the iphone, you will need a data plan.

2. Bluetooth restrictions. Verizon has relaxed on this a little bit, but they are still more restrictive than other companies.

3. I know other people have said this, but GSM is a more widely used technology worldwide.

These are just a few of my ideas...I think this phone will eventually come to verizon, but as a mac user, I'm just happy to see them entering the world of cell phones. They can work out all the bugs on cingular's version and then we can get the updated one later!

1.) I agree in most respects, but then again the device is so expensive, the targeted consumer may not be as worried about that price. Furthermore, with the reports of slow browsing speeds on the Cingular network with this 2G Iphone, EVDO would give it the mobile browsing power it deserves>

2.) Verizon does not really restrict BT on their "smartphones." This is because they do not have to worry about GIN content contractions since they do not really utilize GIN.

3.) You are correct about GSM, this allows them to hit the international scene running.

4.) To add to your list I would have to say that Verizon has not liked the idea of allowing users to grab music from any other place besides VCast.

It's very true. That's why they lock the bluetoothj on most of their bluetooth compatible phones.

That is not true at all. They aloow people to get there music from any place they would like. I have yet to buy a song through vcast. Although I will say Vcast music and iTunes are competing websites so that can throw a wrench into the works.

Not this again. Please name one GIN app that can be transferred over Bluetooth. Try it on a any OBEX phone and you will see that it cannot.

Next, go to Radio Shack and buy a data cable. Try transferring the GIN app to another phone and wash it crash when you try to play it. You will learn that the GIN apps are locked to the ESN.

What is a "GIN content contraction"?

well, one, who cares. And two, if iphone did that, it was a dumb move on their part. Why limit their sales to cingular? There are other cell companies out there, including the 2nd largest carrier and all the other carriers. That would be limiting their sales and not looking out for their own interest and not to mention their investors.

Last I knew, companies such as apple wants to make money. I can see it being exclusive for a short time, but that long, that would be limiting their sales a lot. The iphone is not going to bring truck loads of customers to cingular. Myself, I would rather just have a seperate Ipod anyway, keep my phone a phone.

the ipod part of the phone is just one small part of what makes it look like a great phone. the mac os, wifi, and large screen are what make the phone for me.
