Verizon MediaFlo (Live TV) January?
MediaFLO USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), and Verizon Wireless, which operates the nation's most reliable wireless networks, congratulate the FLO Forum for its success in gaining official approval and publication of the FLOTM Air Interface Specification (AIS) by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-47.1 Subcommittee. The TIA's approval is a significant milestone in the progression of FLO technology's standardization and will help accelerate the delivery and adoption of mobile media services offered by MediaFLO USA to domestic wireless operators.

yes. there will be Vcast TV phones coming out soon from samsung/LG
Do you think that is what is holding up the RAZR MAXX?

the razr maxx is not going to be a Vcast TV phone, atleast not that I have heard of.
They'll still probably going to call it VCast, like VCast 2.0 or something. Since the MediaFlo uses a different frequency than current phones, I guess we'd all have to upgrade again.
MediaFLO technology is different from EV-DO (or any other form of CDMA). So it's not just "a 700mhz EVDO chip." It has nothing to do with EV-DO, or any revision of EV-DO; it's an entirely different technology (OFDM).

however you are right it does not run off of the EVDO network.
