I have a Moto v710 and my wife has the e815 and I'm thinking of upgrading to the KRZR. I did some searching but I have some questions about the bluetooth capabilities. Currently all I can do with my phone's bluetooth is use a headset. Can I transfer files like pictures and mp3s with the krzr's bluetooth. I don't pay for txt messaging so I'd prefer to use other methods to transfer files.

Also, I've read about VW's crippling of these phones by preventing the use of mp3s as ringtones. Is there a simple way of modifying/unlocking the phones so that I could simply set an mp3 that I transferred to my phone (using either the sd card or the bluetooth) as a ringtone. If so can anyone direct me to where I can find this information?

One more que...

Only the LG EnV and 8600 have the file transfer capabilities for BT

just my opinion but the krzr is overpriced garbage. YOu are worried about ringtones and bluetooth get a lg8600. You will get the customizable flash ui, better outside display, video wallpapers, file transfer through bluetooth for your pix, and you can easily send ringtones to your phone through picture messaging(yes you will get charged pix $ every time but a quarter for what you wnat is not that bad) and it costs less 😲 . Screw moto, i have given them to many second chances, besides the 815 and the 325 I have had nothing but trouble with them.

definately... the KRZR has alot os software issues too. You maybe in the store tech lines more then actually using it. No master reset on the phone to fix issues, the bibe & ring function is broke. If you want... the Motorola RAZR Maxx Ve is coming soon. 2.0 MP camera razr, slightly change design from the V3M.

Actually right now the krzr is cheaper than the 8600 by $30. The krzr is down to $100 which would be free for one phone and $100 for another (myself and my wife). That's $60 less than the 8600. Also, I keep my phone in my pocket so size is a very big issue for me and my wife uses the speakerphone a lot (she never uses the bluetooth headset) and I read that the 8600 has a terrible speakerphone. If I can figure out how to (hopefully easily) bypass the controls on the krzr it would work well for me.

I was under the impression that I could at least transfer pictures to the krzr via bluetooth. is that true?

yeah your right they finally lowered the price the thing was $200. Atleaste that is fixed, i would still pay the extra$30 and get a 8600 much nicer. If you must waite for the razr maxx or go to the krzr forum and ask. You siad you are worried about size the 8600 is a little wider but not as tall, they are both easily carrid in a pocket, as far as speaker phones go the krzr doesn't exactly kick ass in that department either, especially when compared to the 815 you are currently using. If you by the zrzr you are stuck with Verizon's crappy ui that is not customizable, you get the red bar of death(enjoy) I just hate the cripled ui, enjoy the flash ui a lot better.

Please do not get the KRAZR. A family member has it and it is totally crippled for the things you want to do with it and the keypad is so small she often dials wrong numbers.

We also have an 8600 and it is wonderful and very programmable for ringtones etc.

Just my opinion based on "owning" both.
