this is what was written to a cust.

Dear ****,

Thank you for contacting the Verizon Wireless website. As part of our Worry
Free Guarantee, your concern becomes our concern the first time you contact us.
We are happy to assist you with your Motorola V710 Bluetooth question.

Currently, Verizon Wireless only allows the following Bluetooth functions on the
Motorola V710:

- Wireless headsets
- Wireless car kits (voice calls only, no syncing contacts)
- Dial-Up networking

Contact syncing, file sharing, and any other Bluetooth functions outside of the
ones listed above are not currently available on the v710. The Motorola v710 is
our first Bluetooth handset. File transfer abilities have not been enabled, as
we are still t...

Gotta love that worry free Guarantee statement. Interesting how it only really works for the benefit of VZW though.

A part of the WFG is that your satisfaction is guaranteed on any equipment purchased. How does a 15 day trial period benefit VZW more than a cust? How about the NE2?

Yes, it does indirectly benefit VZW but it also greatly benefits the consumer.

Every contractual agreement no matter weather it's VZW, some other wireless provider, or some other damned business all together, only have contracts to benefit themselves, to protect themselves. 😈 😲 😁

hello, we don't make cell phones, we buy them near full retail and then sell them at a 2 or 3 hundred dollar loss with a contract; every company does. I advise you to quit verizon immediately and go work for cricket since they're so great. You really are hurting the company that we work for. I started with constructive criticism, but you seem to insist on being ridiculous. You really don't know what you are talking about.

As I stated in one of my previous comments, NO I don't know everything, but neither do you nor anyone else. I know all about the loss that VZW has to take pertaining to the purchase and sale of the phone. I also know that all the other wireless providers are exactly the same way. The fact of the matter is as I also stated earlier is that all companies in the end all be all they are only looking out for number 1

Since the conversation degenerated into a bitch session over the WFG & contracts, I'll answer the question for you...

I HAVE a Timeport. One of the best phones Moto ever made, in my opinion. I still use it periodically. I lost my manual many moons ago, and honestly, I haven't fiddled with the BT part in an even longer time. From what I can recall, yes, it'll work with headsets. I'm pretty sure the phone simply is not capable of anything else other than maybe exchanging phone book info with another BT device. It is, after all, a pretty old phone. I've had it for 3 or 4 years, I think. Been quite a long time.

Thanks for the info. You can download a manual from the moto website or from vzw.com. however, the manual doesn't show anything about the bt adaptor. I look forward to getting the phone, hopefully the ebayer ships it out in time

Like I said, it's a rockin' phone. Good signal strength in the boonies, and the speakerphone is nice & loud. It's kind of big, but rugged as all get out. I wish it was still around. It's held up better than some of the high end phones we sell. It outlasted my T720, that's for sure.

I actually did all the Reliability Engineering on that handset, so I'm glad to hear you find it rugged. You need to get a BT model that fits over the battery compartment (replacing the battery door), but once connected, yes it should work fine with headsets. Good luck!
