My brother in-law wants the Nokia 2128i or similar style phone. It is for a new contract. What I am asking is the seller of the phone warned me that I won’t receive my commission on the contract. I know Verizon doesn’t sell these type of phones no longer, but that’s the only type of phone he wants. If anyone knows the answer please respond.

Are you buying the phone off ebay? this sounds like a similiar seller that sold me phones and I had a real bad experience with him, he is selling prepaid phones and not mentioning them in the ad, then when I got them I couldnt activate them becuase they were locked to Phone in the Box only.

Yes the phone is off ebay. I'm just wondering if I would be able to find that style of phone. So how does one protect them selves from prepaid fraud?

If someone brings me in a phone and wants it activated, I IMMEDIATELY take it and call COOS so that they can run the ESN. They'll tell ya if it's clear or not. In the meantime, scan the ESN yourself and run it under 'device lookup'. Click on 'Equipment Model'. If it has PP after the model #, then you know it's a prepaid phone. At that point, look right below the model of the phone. It gives you an effective date. If it's after 6 months, then you're all good. But if it's within, we are not allowed to activate it on a postpay account. Hope this helps!! 😎

Just checked it, I think it was an exchange, it has 2 hours on the life timer and a couple light, very light, scratches on the back, if you want it $50 plus $6 shipping takes it.

And no, its not a prepaid version, and I give you a 100% gurantee on the phone.
