my friend has an lg vx10 phone and the warenty expires at the end of september. she brought the phone to a verizon store and they said they can't replace it until they find a similar phone to exchange.
whats the policy on exchanging the phone under warenty? is she limited to the same phone model replacement?

thanks

Yes, she has to get same model. If they don't have it in the store have them call customer service so we can ship one out.

Also, in the west area all stores should have what's called an express exchange matrix which can tell an agent what other phone they can replace the lg vx10 with.

Most likely it'll be replaced with a VX3100 or (horrors) a Samsung A310. A pity, the VX10 was a decent phone.

I hope this customer has a copy of their complaint identifying that it occurred within the warranty period in case the replacement takes longer.

Once it was established that the origianl complaint occurred wihtin the warranty period than the firm must honor the warranty even if they are finally get around to it months later.
