My wife has a Verizon phone and experiences an echo on a common bases when calling the other VZW phones in her family plan. I don't know CDMA to well, is there a way to trouble shoot this or fix it? Thanks.

echo was one of the main reasons I switched from Vz back in 2004. I experienced it on my -gasps- T720 😲 and then on my v710. Was it Vz? the phones? MOTO 😳 ? Yeah, let's blame Moto. It's always Moto's fault...

VIVA Sony Ericsson! 😉

Sometimes it can be fixed by looking at the voice channels. The op my want to call into VoiceTech support to make sure it isn't something wrong there.

It's not just Motorola phones that create echo from time to time. My mother has only owned Nokia phones (3589i & 6256i) and I've owned the Motorola 120c, Samsung a650, & a930, and get echo. The only time I get echo is when a certain tower has lots of calls taking place at the same time, and when the weather sometimes is bad. I haven't used Sprint, but I've heard from a few people I know with Sprint, that echo takes place on their network too, along with static. It might be a CDMA thing.

Nope. It happened to me when I used to carry AT&T TDMA and AT&T GSM phones (when I was working there). Excluding issues with bluetooth headsets it is usually relating to the connection itself. I am not 100% sure as to what portion of the connection, but when it is persistent voice tech support can resolve issues with it.

Some times you can fix it by turning the volume down a little.

I've found that it rarely works, but it's worth a try

I have received echo from AT&T, Cingular, Sprint, and Verizon. I currently use Verizon and only experience echo occasionally and only when calling certain people.

Some of the worst connections I have ever had were between two land line phones...

I have Cingular(i'm a sales rep) and have yet to experience this. I'm not trying to start a flamewar, I just wanted to know if this was a phone issues or something as simple as an update. Her VZW service has served us well for years.

I'm not sure, i don't see it on the ps phone list. It was probably what ever Samsung was free about a year ago. Its super basic, no outside display, no camera. It only occurs when calling other VZW customers. If she hangs up and calls back every thing is fine.

Probably an a630. I have one of these at my house and it echoes too. It's the phone.

more likely the a650 because that was the entry level model prior to the a630.
