iphone 4 wifi question

Ok So I haven't posted in a long time, but my wife and I both just upgraded to iphone 4's.

Have to say I love it, I checked out Droid phone's too and just liked Apples interface better.

My question is I am at work, and my phone is finding a Wifi network, but not connecting to it. Anyone have any idea's? It pulls up our network but doesn't pick up the Wifi, and is staying on 3G. Obviously I'd rather not burn through my data so wifi is esssential.

My wife says she also has a similar problem at her work where the phone picks up that the network is there but doesn't connect to it.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

New BB's?

So.....any news or ideas on when that new BB's will be coming to Big Red? Especially the all touch screen, I think it's called Monaco at this time; the wife is ready to switch from her S2 and needs to keep the BBM thing going.

Change Phones keep Data?

Sorry if this has been answered, but my search didn't come up with an answer...at leat that I saw.

I currently have a family plan and my wife and I have unlimited data. I understand that we can keep it as long as we don't change our plan. Does that mean that we can swap out phones and still keep the plan?

thanks

Verizon Tiered Data Pricing Is a Mistake: 10 Reasons Why

I especially like #2 & #6. 😲

By eliminating unlimited data for its mobile customers, Verizon is putting itself in a difficult position. The fact is, unlimited data isn’t good for anyone, including customers, smartphone makers, or carriers. Prior to its decision, Verizon held the high ground on data plans. Now, the company is down at the bottom of the heap with AT&T.

Verizon committed a major blunder by bringing tiered data to its business, and over time, it will realize why.

Read on to find out why tiered data pricing is bad for all stakeholders and could eventually come back to haunt Verizon Wireless:

1. More smartphones mean more data use

If there is anything that can be guaranteed in the coming years i

Well that was a SHORT trip to the other side

Well I put my foot in my mouth. I tried sprint for short bit and it worked really well for the most part. When I had reception voice clarity was really great, but it was searching for service when at HOME!

Back to verizon got the G'zOne Commando and LOVE IT! and still locked in unlimited data!

So now that we have tiered data...

...Verizon shouldn't care what one does on the phone as long as the meter is running. Someone on a tiered data plan should be able to do anything they want with the phone because they can no longer 'abuse' Verizon. Now that means one should be able to download applications such as PDA Net or any others which allow one to effectively tether without paying additional for the Mobile Hotspot feature.

I'm ready to buy my first iPhone, but...

I am not pleased that Verizon's iPhone, because it is CDMA, does not surf and talk at the same time. AT&T's does. There are tons of you out there who know more about the pros and cons than I do. Should I stay with Verizon and take the iPhone they have, or should I go over to AT&T and get the phone with the feature I want? If you're going to be critical of my inquiry, don't even respond. If you can give me a reasonable answer, I would like to hear it. Many thanks in advance.

Can I send back a different phone using the Replacement Verizon Wireless

Lets take for example I received an Iphone replacement and send back a Droid x. What will happen and if they do charge me, how much? Usually replacements are for the same model, but I'm curious what will happen in the above scenario.

Moment of Truth

So as the hours tick by until Unlimited Data is a mere memory I find myself wondering if I should activate my XV6900 in place of my VX8300 to grab the Unlimited Data Plan on that line.

Switching service between two smartphones

If I want to switch my service between a Droid Incredible and an iPhone 4, can this be done easily without changing up my plan? Specifically, the smartphones talk free promo and the unlimited data? And is there a limit of how many times you can switch between phones?

Sorry for the noob question, but I get bored with phones easily and I'm used to SIM cards.

Thanks.

Need Help For My Sister

My sister got the Droid 2, She likes everything about it but what she describes as a big keyboard that's almost too big. Now she was a previous BB Tour owner with Verizon so she tried the Droid 2 and wasn't too happy with the phone. Should she go with the LG Revolution, Samsung Charge or Stick with the Blackberry?

I know I've been trolling around the sites for a long while but I am not familiar with any of these phones to get an idea. The sales people at Verizon were telling her to go with the Droid Pro which is a piece of crap in my opinion.

Thanks

confused about ETF

My contract expires April 2013. So at that time I can just go to another cell phone company with no fees owed to Verizon?

So the possible 0.03 cents a month charge they are discussing is for early termination fees only. Since I'm not leaving Verizon then I really don't need this, correct? Unless there is some kind of fee for leaving after my contract expires than this three cent monthly fee would apply towards that?

Here is a site I was reading.

Best phone for calender sync

I have a Blackberry Curve and I like everything about it except how difficult it is to sync with my online calender. I began using Google calender and that worked for a while but now won't sync with my phone. I've gone back and forth with it for a couple of years. I use my calender A LOT and want to easily be able to sync it with other calenders. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Unlimited Data Plan Grandather?

😲

I keep reading on here that if you have the Unlimited tiered plan that you'd be grandfathered in. Then there's the other side of the coin...People are saying they're not grandfathering anyone in.

So whats the real deal?

It's all but absolutely official!

Verizon is going to take away its unlimited data plan effective tomorrow, July 7th. I am ready to buy the iPhone and stay with Verizon IF their iPhone allowed the same flexibility as the AT&T version, but no...because the phone is a CDMA handset, it won't talk and surf at the same time. That really pisses me off. The biggest company in the country can't get Apple to tumble and allow an LTE iPhone to be used on their network. Verizon is still the most reliable system out there, and the unlimited data is a real advantage, but the handset...damn! I know there are other phones on Verizon's service that will do what I want, but it's an iPhone after-market out there. I have a surround-sound system that allows the iPhone to be used on a docki...

Why I prefer unlimited data....

...even if I don't need it.
There is a lot of talk lately about saving money by switching away from unlimited data to a plan that more closely fits your average usage. I don't want to do that, and here's why: STRESS FREE SURFING!

If I have a limit to my usage, I will always have it in the back of my mind. Every time I go on-line I will be thinking about that limit. It takes all the fun out of using my phone as I see fit.

Sure, most months I could probably use a smaller tiered paln. Checking FB, email, and looking up a few websites doesn't use much. But maybe I have downtime and I want to stream some Pandora, or watch a bunch of stupid videos on youtube. I don't want to have to check my account first and see if I'm approac...
