Alltel phone on My VZW plan??

Why does Verizon not allow old Alltel phones to be activated on a verizon calling plan? I had alltel, then switched to a verizon plan, and now am not allowed to use my other alltel phone ever again? Anyone know why, or when they might allow this?

My Tour is dying and my NE2 isn't until March

What are the chances I can get Verizon to let me replace my Tour with a Droid X or Droid 2 and not pay full price?

Going to call Customer Service later today, after a bunch of meetings, but thought I would ask here first.

Thanks!

Droid 2

so I got to play with one of these today and I must say the keyboard is not the greatest but it is a huge improvement over the first. I also liked the little changes they made to the outer housing. Seemed like a solid update to an already great phone.

Now I am torn... to many choices.. plus I kinda want to see the r2d2 before pulling the trigger

No contract prepaid , way of the future !

I have been reading these forums for awhile now and have learned a great amount of information. I want to say upfront i'm a verizon contract customer. I find it interesting that the Straight Talk unlimited $45 plan or the page plus $45 unlimited plan is never mentioned. They both utilize the Verizon prepaid national network and represent some of the best values in wireless! For example Verizon's own prepaid unlimited talk and text plan is $94.99 month plus taxes and surcharges! I understand that Straight Talk's parent company trac phone and page plus are mvnos buying wholesales minutes from Verizon. I feel more people should know about these plans to save money with our economy being the way it is ! Its also interesting to note that Verizon ...

VZ Access Manager

Any idea if any future Android handsets will be supported by VZAM? So far only the Incredible is supported.

WHO DOES VERIZON THINK THEIR FOOLIN WITH THE DROID?

All carriers have these phones. I went into Sprint and they had the evo which is 1000000000 times cooler than the dumb droid. Then AT&T had the captivate which is insane. They're everywhere not just Verizon like they advertise. OOOOOOOOO DROID. OOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOO!!!! MY NAME IS VERIZON REP AND FORGET TO MENTION THAT ANDROID IS NOT JUST AT VERIZON.

For me, Verizon is triple the cost of AT&T for data

I have a Blackberry on Verizon and use way less than 200 MB per month of data. I have a Microsoft Enterprise Server in the office. Verizon wants $45 per month for a BES connection to this server. If I was on AT&T, it would cost me $15 per month for the BES connection (since AT&T does not charge extra for BESX; Verizon is the only carrier that does to my knowledge). Verizon is triple the cost. That is a huge difference, if I have this right, and really makes me consider changing service providers when my contract is up. Unfortunately, due to finally having all my family (located in several states) on Verizon, this decision is not as easy as it sounds (there's a reason why the carriers offer free mobile to mobile; it locks people in).

Imagio special upgrade

I called Verizon a few days ago, to fix something on my BB, and during the convo, they told me about a current special upgrade for the Imagio even though it wasn't time to upgrade that phone yet. I told them, "Wow, that's good, cause, my hubby hates his Imagio!" So I'm going to upgrade it to a Droid 2, then exchange phones with my hubby... 🤣

So why is Verizon replacing Imagio's? Could it be that my hubby is not the only one complaining about it?

Hotspot

Is there anyway I can create a hotspot on my laptop or my XV6900? I want to buy an ipod Touch and take advantage of my data plan on my XV6900.

Vzn is aiming to cover 75% of the country with LTE by April 2012!

That's a pretty short period of time. Verizon is being very, very ambitous. There's also a lot of stuff in this article about a Motorola tablet coming out.

Shutting Down Aps

OK, so I have my Droid X and I have the Advanced Task Killer installed. Why is it that when I open my Fox News ap and read, I can't get it to shut down? I don't see an option to exit the ap. All I can do is go to the Home screen, but my status bar shows that the Fox News ap is still running. That ap is checked in the Advanced Task Killer list, but yet it isn't being killed. It's been up in the status bar for a few hours now but the Task Killer is set for every half hour. Any ideas?
Thanks.
