any phones support mp3 ringtones? (or any "real music" file)

Hi,

I'm looking for a new phone with Verizon, and I'd really like to set a real song as my ringtone. I can't seem to find a straight answer, or a phone that supports this feature- can anyone help?

"Business Ringtones" in GIN Applications?

Hello, everyone. I am a very content Motorola v710 owner who just recently purchased the a840 for an overseas business trip. I was wondering whether anyone could recommend a GIN ringtone application that has a decent selection of "normal," business-like ringtones (i.e., ones that sound like an office phone). It seems that most ringtone applications in GIN are touting the fact that they have the latest pop/rock hip/hop musical selections, when all I'm looking for are ringtones that sound ... well, like a telephone. And since I can't preview these applications prior to purchase, I thought I'd come here for advice.

Thanks in advance for your help, and Happy Holidays!

Early termination fee

So I canceled my service and went to another company.

THere was a problem with my termination date that was to be resolved(mistake on Verizon's part) they said it expired on APril 06 etc.

So I call to ask if I can cancel after Nove 12,05 (my original exp date) b/c cust rep says yes, no problem I won't be charged early term fee.

So I am charged the fee of course $175.00.
I call to ask why that I had called before and every single rep told me they all knew my contract was up in Nov 12,05 and it had been a mistake on their part.

Guess what now they say my contract expired Nov 12, 06!!!

Is there any court papers I can file against this issue? WHy are they suddenly making up another date? Most likely I will have to end up paying ...

me :( regarding the banning of my post

I am sad and disappointed that what I presume was a reputable board like phonescoop, actually censors, edits, deletes what they do not see fit.

I have been an observer for a long time of this board. I have seen stuff that I thought was immature childish but never got banned. I come here for info and knowledge but I must say I was very disappointed by what transpired.

Not many forums exist where you can express yourself without fear of reprisals. The question was of Verizon Wireless nature. It asked if Fox was going to attack Verizon Wireless for not allowing their reps to say Merry Christmas. I am not christian or atheist but I think a tradition is a tradition.

I guess phonescoop has stooped down the same path as the right w...

My contract expired and the 6256i is free...or is it?

My 2 year verizon contract has been up for a while and they've been bugging me to reup.
I've been waiting for a phone I like and see that the 6256i is available for free online with a 2 year contract.
Is that only for a new service?

I plan to ask the seller, but want to get informed here first by folks who've read plenty of fine print.

Like Woody Guthrie said, "Education is reading the fine print. Experience is what happens when you don't."

Verizon Wireless rebate for the Nokia 6256i?

Does Verizon Wireless (not Nokia, not the retailer) offer a rebate for the 6256i?

I haven't bought the 6256i yet. There isn't a Verizon Wireless corporate store near me, so I plan to get it from maybe Best Buy or Radioshack or even an internet e-tailer.

I have tried looking for a rebate form on www.verizonwirelessrebates.com but it can't get any information without a UPC code.

Does anyone know if there is a rebate for the phone from Verizon Wireless? Or the right UPC code? Thanks.

a little courtesy

i've been reading all these posts and begin to see a trend. people who went into stores and didn't get the right answer and then curse those who they worked with and the whole company with them. i'm writing this to just ask you all to stop and think for a minute before blowing up on the workers. remember that we are all human. we don't know everything there is to know about the cellular business. just as i'm sure there are aspects of your jobs that you don't fully understand and couldn't explain. i am very educated on the wireless industry but still do not know it all, and never will. no one ever will. so please next time you're ready to go crazy on an employee, stop and think that they are only humans trying to feed their family just the wa...

Did Verizon Lock Down Razr?

I have read elswhere that the Razr v3c phone that Verizon now offers cannot be used with Mobiledit, or Moto's Mobile Phone Tools to download pictures and ringtones. Can anyone here with the new phone verify this?

I've called Verizon Customer Service and they didn't have an answer and said that tech support would be calling me, I'm still waiting past the deadline they gave me for an answer. The local stores aren't any help either.

Thanks in Advance

Question for Gunny or any other Razr user...

How is the battery life on the phone? I am using the E815 right now, and was thinking of going to the LG. The reason I backed off the Razr was the battery life. I would not want an extended battery on the Razr because that would defeat the purpose of it. Let me know your thoughts.

Reality check on the RAZR...

Not sure what I'm going to do.

Just spoke to a Verizon store, and they gave me the lowdown on the deal with the new V3c. The cost of the phone is $299, reduced by $100 with my NE2, and reduced by another $100 by a MIR. So, my final cost is $99. I'm almost curious enough to do this just to give myself a little comparison with my new Nokia 6256i, which is working just fine, by the way. However, I would be starting a new 2-year agreement with Verizon if I did, and since I got the Nok as a gift, I've been month to month since October 31, and I planned to keep it that way. I have no intention of going anywhere else, but I have no need to change my plan at all...the 800 minutes on the old plan for $59.99 national don't even get used, so an...

OK, who's got the RAZR????

Just thought I'd ask who's taken the plunge and gotten the new Verizon RAZR, and what their assessment of the phone is. I MIGHT try it out myself, but I'm waffling. Would really like to hear what you good folks have to say about it. And all of you Verizon direct and indirect personnel, you're disqualified from this. I'm in the biz, too, and I want the customers who aren't in the biz to give me their reactions, OK? Thanks to all in advance!

So, I got the Samsung a970 and???????

I think I am VERY dissatisfied with this phone. I am coming from the vx8100 (which had the volume bug that drove me nuts), and I am amazed at the things that I think are lacking on this phone. Now, I am going to say that I have only had the 970 for 1 day, so I may be missing something, but here goes:

1. I cannot find a way to save words into predictive text. Is there a way, or is this just missing on the phone????

2. THE PHONE DOESN'T ALLOW YOU TO SEND TEXTS OF OVER 160 CHARACTERS (known as EMS)!!!! C'mon, I have to be missing a setting here, don't I??? Or is this glaring issue just overlooked????

3. The outer screen SUCKS!!!!

I am honestly thinking of returning this phone and getting the LG 9800. I don't want to have to...

12/09/2005

BEDMINSTER, NJ -- In a victory for wireless users’ privacy, Verizon Wireless
has won permanent injunctions to stop two telemarketing firms from making
illegal sales calls to cell phone customers. The lawsuits, based on information
from Verizon Wireless customers and company employees who received the calls,
were the first of their kind initiated by a U.S. wireless carrier to protect
wireless customers from illegal telemarketing calls.

Both firms, Intelligent Alternatives of San Diego, CA, and Resort Marketi...
