Questions for Verizon (retail) employees

Do you like your job? If not, why?

What is the commission structure like at your store?

What benefits do you receive?

I'm asking because I might be leaving my Sprint store to work at the Verizon store down the road.

Does anyone use the over the air downloading?

I mean the Vz card for your laptop. How are your download speeds? I know they aren't as fast as cable but I'm wondering how they compare, especially for music and movies or tv. I'd like to completely ditch Cox Cable but we can't live without internet support 😁

Verizon Wireless Network Extender

Do you use, or have you used Verizon Wireless's Network Extender? If so, would you please share your experience with me.

I am having issues in my basement with voice and am contemplating purchasing this item. None of our VZW devices (Blackberry Bold, Blackberry Tour, LG-Env2, LG5400, etc.) are able to receive voice calls in the basement.

If I do buy the Network Extender, it would be placed in the basement.

Thanks for any and all feedback!

BB Bold 9650...Not a signal hound

Anyone having trouble with this new VZW BB? 🤨
I've had this problem before and after the recent update, most recently it just went to 1x 'searching for network'. 😳
Never had any problems with any other VZW phones or BB's for that matter. 😕

Droid X vs Samsung Fascinate

First let me say that I personally think both phones are too big (especially the Droid X). But I guess if I want the latest specs, I have to accept the package they come in.

Anyhow...Here's the way I see it: Motorola Droid X (on paper) is pretty-much the phone to beat.
The Samsung has the Super AMOLED screen which looks amazing and it's also a little smaller and more pocketable. BUT...it lacks HDMI out and it has a 5mp camera vs the Droid X's 8mp.

Based on that, the only real advantage to the Sammy is the Super AMOLED screen. How much better will it actually look over the Droid X? hmmmmmm

Blackberry Strom/Smartphone

The Storm looks like a pretty cool phone, but I have a Voyager now and have the unlimited data. I can check my yahoo mail and download/view most of my attachments (mostly pics) I can't view my work outlook e-mail from anywhere (military), I like the phone, but what would I get for $30 a month for any Blackberry or Smartphone. Do you have to get the e-mail package for all Blackberry or Smart-phones?

Thank you,

Robert

Cause of HTC Incredible muffled-sounding earpiece

I got Verizon to finally admit that there is an issue with the earpiece sound quality on the Incredible. From this forum, I have learned that HTC has also admitted the same flaw. Question--Why aren't they working to resolve it???? I have a theory. Verizon tells phone manufacturers to design a phone based on their RIGID specifications. In these specs, I am sure Verizon mentions "and make it so each unit costs no more that xx dollars." So, therefore, HTC must use "cheap parts" to meet Verizon's budget monetary number for the cost to produce each unit.

I tried the Sprint HTC Evo in a corp Sprint store today, and guess what???? This phone's earpiece sounds PERFECT!! What a difference from the Incredible. They are both CDMA phon...

Apple Quick Time and Vzw

I have a client that uses quick time on his home computer. He also uses a helmet cam to record when he is riding his motorcycle. Then he pulls the SD card from the helmet cam and uploads it to his home PC using quick time.
He would like to be able to view these videos and what not on a BB Curve 2.
I have searched and found that quick time is an apple software, so I am assuming there is no way to download quick time to a Blackberry.
Does anyone know of a similar software to quicktime that would work on the Verizon Wireless Blackberry Curve 2??

Thanks for your help!

Incredible or Droid X?

Hi,

I've been checking out Phonescoop for years (since the days of the VX6100) for the latest news and reviews but this is the first time I've posted.

My contract ended in May (switching from a family plan to a single plan--the secondary line wants to go to pre-paid) and it's time to replace my Curve. I've been looking at the Incredible and the Droid X.

If I act by June 30th, I can essentially get the Incredible for free:

$100 NE2
$100 MIR
$50 off smartphone sale for the 1 year anniversary of Verizon Kiosks being inside PC Richards (same set up as Circuit City had--corporate kiosk inside the store)
$50 10 year anniversary promotion that Verizon text & mailed to me

Is the Droid X that much of an upgrade over the Incredible t...

So when is a phone just TOO BIG?

Is it just me, or are we going backwards? Those of you who remember the cell phones of the late 80's and early 90's will know what I mean. They used to be big and bulky with a battery that could barely make it through an entire day. Sound familiar? We seem to be there again. For a while we had nice, compact phones that would last almost a week between charges. Now we're back to slabs that barely fit into a pocket. And don't even get me started about battery life. Look, I like all the cool stuff the new smartphones can do. I love having the internet in my pocket, and it's nice to have a big screen to view it on. But sooner or later these phones are going to grow past the point of true portability. I don't want a big goofy looking h...
