A question about all digital vs. trimode

I have been told by a Verizon manager that an all digital Verizon phone has a greater range than does a trimode Verizon phone in its digital mode, because the trimode phone will switch to analog at a point where the all digital phone will continue to pick up a digital signal. Does anyone know if this is true? If it is true, will an all digital phone work in some of the areas deemed analog on the Verizon map?

Attention Cingular People

Cingular has a reputation for guerilla marketing tactics, that is to say anything is ethical as long as it results in a sale. I find that here on the Verizon forum as well. But what I don't find are facts.
Statements such as: "everyone is bailing to Cingular" or "Everyone knows that GSM has better call quality than CDMA" cannot be backed up.
Cingular has a larger customer base than Verizon, but through buyouts and mergers, not customer loyalty.
Bring us real verifiable numbers that everyone can see such as net adds, churn, or even voluntary churn. How about signal to noise ratio on your network, data speeds, minimum db to hold a call, dropped call %, blocked call %, etc.
I don't see any verification, therefore cannot but doubt what you...

To VZW reps... You were right...

When I first came here I asked the VZW reps on the forum about which plan to go with (for me and also a friend of mine). I was choosing between the 1000 Anytime minutes with Free LD and no unlimited anything ($39.99), and the Local Digital Choice 600 with unlimited nights/weekends/IN ($39.99).

The reps told me to a man (and/or woman) that the LDC 600 was way better, but I said, "Well, what about being able to call during peak hours? What about being able to call anytime I want without worrying about it?".

Guess who went with the 1000 Anytime for $39.99? Guess who's been over their minutes 2 of the past 4 months (albeit by small amounts)? Ugh. ☹️

Switched to LDC 600 just a few days ago, and I already see the light. I racked up aroun...

Churn????

Hi,

I'm an occasional visitor to this forum and an even less frequent contributer, but I have learn a great deal from everyone here and I thank you all.......

My question concerns the terms that are thrown around frequently when discussing who the better provider is...

If someone can take a few minutes to clarify some of these terms and even tell who does and where they are compiled (companies themselves, industry periodicals, third party, FCC, etc.) it would be really helpful for those not from the wireless industry to keep up with the conversations...

here are a few i've been unclear about
- churn
- coverage (for example, does roaming coverage come as an extra charge?)
- customer service (just when you call or in store coun...

Removing Verizon Banner from LG 4500?

Is it possible to remove the Verizon Wireless banner from the LG 4500? It takes up a lot of room in the display screen and makes the screen look cluttered and small.

A friend of mine mentioned his wife was able to get rid of her banner on her LG 4400 but she doesn't remember how what she pushed to remove it.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

I was planning on buying a V710 soon because i think that it is a awesome phone and that it is capabile of doing alot...But with that stated does any Service Rep or anyone know when Verizon is going to release a software update and allow you to use the Bluetooth technology, MP3 player, and PC to Phone Share? I talked to a rep today and he told me that they were going to release a update in a month but i don't know if he was just feeding me a line or if anything is really is going to happen....

Attn:SPCSVZWJeff

You have always helped me in the past and you seem to know what you are talking about.
In your opinion should I keep my VX6000 though my contract is just about over and get the VX7000? Or should I "hang in there" for a little while longer if you think the VX8000 will come out some time this "century"?

Stay with my vx6000 or wait for the vx8000???

As you can see, I own a VX6000 camera phone which has never failed me. I had thought at one time to either purchase a VX7000 or Moto710.
I have a feeling if I were to go with either of these two phones in the next few months, the vx8000 would suddenly appear.
My contract w/Verizon is up in 1 month, though their coverage is excellent, their phone choices are far and few in between. This is one of the many reasons I believe to sign only 1 year contracts.
The competition among cell carriers is so good, that loyalty to one company doesn't mean much anymore.
Like cars, cable etc. All carriers are pretty much the same. I see a lot of "flame wars" on here, and I say, "What is all the fuss about?" Just do what works for you. Don't try to...

Upgrade Policy

I'm sure this has been discussed numerous times, but I'm going to bring it up again. What exactly is the upgrade policy at Verizon. I understand that you can't use the $100 credit that you get with the New Every 2 program unless you wait until your contract is up, but if you're willing to pay the regular price that they offer the phone for, how long do you have to wait? If anyone could let me know that'd be great!

Should I stay with Sprint or switch to Verizon?

I've been with SprintPCS for about 3 years. I've been reasonably satisfied with them, except for the 3-4 "dead spots" that drop my calls (I live in Houston, TX). I've never had any serious billing issues and call quality is fine.

However, my cell phone (Samsung A460) is falling apart, I don't have equipment replacement and I'd have to wait till March to get the free phone upgrade.

Three days ago, I initiated a new plan with Verizon because:

1. Almost everyone I know has Verizon, so I can take advantage of the free in-network calls.
2. People tell me that Verizon call quality is good in my area.
3. Verizon has better phones than Sprint, and I can get one for cheap if I'm a new customer.

However, I've had some pretty fr...

Attn: Verizon reps. and Corporate Headquarters....?

I have a question. My one year contract w/Vrz is up on 1/05. And I am on the America's Choice Plan. What I want to know is this. Though I always pay my bill on time, would they drop me because I'm on their $39.99 montly plan? I use mostly weekend minutes, I do not text, and only send 2 or 3 photos through the phone. So Verizon doesn't make much money on me.
Though my contract expires like I said (1/05) I'll go month to month for a while, to see if they come out with some more advance phones, example Lg Vx-8000 etc.
Thank you for you help now and in the past.
