Switching phones?

My vx7000 started glitching last week and Verizon gave me a new one, well I'm thinking this is my chance to switch phones, i got this phone a few days after it came out and liked it for awhile. Now its just getting annoying, so basically I'm wondering that if i bring it back to verizon before the 15 days that they gave me the new one, if i could switch to a v710 with out paying full retail for it? I know i would have to pay the difference but i think its worth it.

Release of the LGVX6100?

I have read varying posts as to the release of this phone. I'm going to upgrade in a few days and since the 9900 is out of stock with no intention of a new shipment (what the rep told me yesterday at the VZW store), I'm interested in the 6100. If the 6100 will actually come out soon, I'll wait...if not...any suggestions for a good camera/tri-mode phone from Verizon? Thanks.

Phones & Plan Coming In November? Phone Recs?

I have a friend who's switching from (i.e. running like hell from) AT&TW, and I've steered her towards Verizon, who apparently has the best coverage in the city she lives in (SF). She'll be switching in November, when her contract with AT&TW is up (as she puts it: "YAY!!").

The question is, what phones should I steer her towards? My short list includes the Audiovox 9900, Samsung 670, and LG VX-6100, but is there anything else in the pipeline that's good and coming out in late October or November? Her requirements are good battery life (she talks A LOT), good reception and audio quality (things she never had w/ATTW), and some durability (she's a bit klutzy and will drop things). Also, computers HATE her (as she puts it), so an easy-to-use ...

Why Verizon's obsession with camera or PDA phones?

Doesn't Verizon realize not everyone wants a poor quality camera in their phone, or that business, employeer, and/or legal/ethical reasons may prohibit carrying camera phones?

Not everyone wants a bulky PDA do-everything phone which requires continuous charging either.

Yeah, they have a few others, but most are older models, seems Verizon's new technology selection is limited to kids and gimmicks.

Verizon Employees, please

In some forums, people who claim to work for Verizon are saying that the CDM 9900 has already been discontinued. Is this in any way true?

Please set the record straight.

Thanks

somewhat dumb questions?

what would vzw do if i walked in with a vzw fone, used and wanted to sign up for a new service plan? (for instance a moto t730)? can i do that, or do i have to buy a phone too then activate the other? (on vzw website?)

9900 Employee Phone Pricing

I ordered a 9900 when it was still $39.97 for employees. Since it did not state it was out of stock does that mean I am guaranteed to get one at that price, regardless if it takes a week or two to get it?

Roaming Agreements with Cingular

anyone know if there are any roaming agreements with cingular* in north jersey?
or any in the near future?

* I allways heard they shared towers, which made no sense to me, since they are a diffrent networks, my guess is, they share the piece of land that its on, and both have their own anttena's.

is there any truth to that? and if yes, are there any updates on North Jersey (07960)

Sendind EMS text messages from the web???

Is there anyway to send EMS text messages (i.e. text messages greater than 160 characters) to EMS enabled Verizon phones from your computer? If I email a EMS enabled phone it cuts off the message after 160 characters, and Vtext.com only lets you enter 160 characters. Is there any other way to take advantage of EMS other than phone-to-phone (example: computer-to-phone)???

Thanks,
-Tom

LG 6100s Arriving...

On the LG 6100 forum, someone states that they've confirmed that their order for a 6100 has shipped. Also, there's a user review up.

So I guess they're just about here?

IMAP Email with Verizon?

Can I check my email if it is through an IMAP server instead of an POP3? All the programs I have seen on Get it Now deal with POP email.

Does VzW charge to change number to new area code?

My wife just got her father to add her to his (national) VzW plan; phone is arriving shortly. (He's in California; we're in PA.) He went to a VzW store to have her added; the rep told him that VzW would allow my wife to switch her cellphone number to a local number for free. Is this true? Can this be done anytime, or only during the first 15 days?

If it matters, no porting is involved; this is a new number.

Thanks for any replies...

Data in Canada

I am thinking of buying a treo. i used to have an older BB and found that whenever i traveled to Canada I couldn't get email or wireless internet when in Toronto. Will i have the same problem with the Treo or did VZW finally get a partner up north?

Me: Well, ma'am, the extra $10 on your bill is tax.

Customer: Well, if I don't go over my minutes, do I still have to pay tax?

Me: 😳
