My first post in this forum

https://www.phonescoop.com/carriers/forum.php?fm=m&f ... ยป

This is the first time I posted here. Not bad. Not nasty. I shared my experiences with a couple stores in AC and my co workers experience with their Verizon phone there.

You can see how defensive and arrogant my first responses were for yourself.

Just switched from T-Mobile. . . now getting TERRIBLE reception!

I just switched from T-Mobile to Verizon, largely because there were too many holes in T-Mobile's service. I'm in Los Angeles, and Verizon was the most highly rated service.

I bought a new LG VX-7000 phone, but the reception is terrible. I don't have any reception at all at my house, even in areas where T-Mobile worked fine. About 80% of my calls are dropped after the first minute. The phone often shows 3 or 4 bars of service, makes a call, then cuts out completely with no warning, even if I stand perfectly still in exactly the same spot.

What gives? I have to decide by tomorrow if I'm canceling this service or I face penalties. Help!!

Verizon coverage in Dallas/The Colony

Hi, I'm considering switching from Sprint PCS to Verizon (no real reason to leave, but nothing really keeping me either). I hear good things about Verizon.

How is the coverage of Verizon in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area? Specifically, in The Colony/Frisco north of Dallas and near the airport (Irving/Euless area).

Merger

You verizon guys are in trouble, when the Merger goes threw, not only is Cingular going to be bigger, but The ATTWS and Cingular Forums will become one. Making Cingular Forum way more active than Verizons. How you like them apples. Lol, just a joke guys. ๐Ÿ˜‰

GSM vs. CDMA

Would someone please explain the difference between CDMA and GSM..the pros and cons and what not?

It seems that the whole world is on GSM and Verizon is limiting itself by not moving to that standard, so I'm trying to understand the differences.

It also seems that many of the manufacturers are creating feature laden, well designed GSM phones primarily, with CDMA phones being 2nd priority.

I am interested to hear people's opinions.
Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

The Almighty Kingfrog

When are you guys in this forum making fun of kingfrog going to realize that he is right all the time. All 40 million customers are dumb, just like he's stating, they don't know anything.

When are you guys going to realize that kingfrog's opinion is not actually an opinion but an actual fact. All other opinions are just jiberish, especially 40 million opinions.

When are you guys going to realize that posting actual #'s on which carrier has the best churn rate and new customers is irrellevant; the correct approach if you can observe the almighty frog is to just spew out obsenities.

It is time to realize that kingfrog is right all the time, opinions aren't relative to each person, and stats are silly.

This frog is in a council al...

Q for VZW sales......

I have just recently completed my 2 yr contract and am looking for a new phone (currently the Moto t720 POS) however am unhappy with the offerings currently available (pocket PC type wanted). My question is.....if I purchase a phone now without getting a renewed contract, do I lose the new every 2 ability later on? Asked the Rep at the store and was told I needed to renew my contract if I am to buy a phone........I don't believe him, and was hoping someone here can set me straight considering you wouldn't have the commission on the back of your mind like this guy did.

Thanks.....

Spotty service lately?

Has anyone else noticed spotty service in the last 2 days? Normally, I can all from home and have a solid 3-4 bars of service without a dropped call...in the last 18 hours, I've had a call dropped & twice my phone lost signal when I went to dial...

this is so atypical of VZW from my home...BTW, I'm in So. Cal.

I went ahead and *228 to the new PRL...maybe it'll help?! ๐Ÿ˜•

Motorola phone offerings

I have been a VW customer for some 12 yrs now and have always been a supporter of Motorola phones. They have served me very well in the past. I notice that over the past few years Verizon is offering less and less Motorola products and the ones they do offer are always given poor reviews. Why won't Verizon offer the better quality Motorolas? I am unfamiliar with the Samsing and Lg phones and could definitely use some good advice on these if they are superior phones. Any help is very appreciated.

Question

Just curious here.

But does anyone think that all the talk about Bluetooth profiles bein disabled in the V710 would be better suited to the V710 forum? I personally am gettin sick and tired of hearin about the damn thing and I've never laid eyes on one.

Besides...what's so damned bad about having to use a cable to sync with your PC? Ya gotta do that with other phones. Are we so lazy as Americans that we can't even pull our phones out of our pockets to plug a tiny little cable into them? ๐Ÿ™„

Security?

I was at a local Verizon store last week and saw that they now have a Security Guard on duty.

I know that people can get rather upset but is a guard really needed? He looked like he was about 60 nonetheless.

I myself work in Private Security and notice the loss prevention devices you have installed so I know thats not it, but do customers really get that out of hand that Security Guards are needed??

Why not just hire bouncers instead? ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I know of a couple that are looking for a day job. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Found Out Whe Verizon Hasnt Released the V710 - Bluetooth I

Boooo Hooooo....

Phone doesn't work with the Motorla Bluetooth adaptor... Per Motorola, that is OK... It will be fixed one day and they will continue to Advertise and sell the adaptor as a compatible product...

"Dear Michael,

Thank you for contacting Motorola e-mail support one more time.

Regarding your concern, we deeply apologize for the inconveniences caused. The BlueTooth adaptor and Mobile Phone Tools are actively advertised as a way to sync the V710 with the computer on the Motorola website, because they will"... one day... " be compatible. The fact that they do not work with the V710 at this time has been identified, and you will be able to go to Verizon and get a software upgrade within the next 60 days. Motorola does not...

SWITCHED FROM CINGULAR TO VERIZON

I just ported my number from Cingular to Verizon God I am so glad to be done with the Moto T720. I got the LG VX7000 and love the service. I had to pay a early termination fee to cingular but it is well worth the money to get rid of the T720. I went thru 4 phone and in the end had the same problem with all 4 phones (freezing, call drops, screen blacking out, I could go on and on with issues. I contacted cingular one last time and asked to trade the phone in for a different phone and they said no can do not even going to happen you have to pay full price for a new one. So instead of giving them my money for 2 new phones and paying them for another year and half of service I terminated my contract and gave my bussiness to Verizon and I coul...

New VZW Promotions?

I read on this forum a few weeks back that today, August 2nd, was the day when Verizon ended one promotional period and began another. I just checked out the website and can't see that anything has changed.

Just curious to know if anything new has happened or if we're going to stick with the same promotions and features for a while longer.

Thanks!

Moto V60 vs Moto V60S vs Nokia 3589i fringe/rural reception

Can anyone who has had both the v60 and the v60s compare their reception in rural/fringe areas? The moto v60 is the only phone that ever worked at my mom's in WV, but I have heard reports that the V60s is not as good as the V60. I traded my v60 with my mom's lg vx4400 so that she would have a cellphone that actually worked at her house (same carrier). I'm up for a new phone and am tempted to get another v60 off ebay or somewhere, unless someone can tell me if the v60s or nokia 3589i are as good or better than the v60.

Thanks,

V60s Problem

Have any of you VZW techs heard of any software problems with the V60s? I've been having weird problems with the phone. Now the newest problem (not software related) is the charging port doesn't work all the time.

Any ideas?

I swear I have the worst luck with cell phones, I treat them great, but since I've been with Verizon, a little over 2 years now, I've had 8 different phones, they keep having problems.
