Verizon Wireless’ vaunted network may not be paying off for some users of the Droid, who are complaining about problems with call quality on their smartphones.
“There’s a problem with echo on the phone, so when someone calls you, to them it sounds like they are having a conversation with themselves,†says Heath Brashier, a Baton Rouge, Louisiana, software developer who bought his Droid, which is manufactured by Motorola, just about a week ago. “It’s happened to me twice so far.â€Â

Reliable low radiation phone
I'm getting ready to replace my Motorola W385 after two years. I have been pleased with it's strong signal and call quality. I have learned, however, that it's at the very top of the list of radiation (SAR).
I would like a smartphone but don't want to pay for data or email.
That being said, can anyone recommend a good, reliable, strong signal basic phone with great voice quality and ease of text messaging?
The most important aspects are signal strength (call quality), reliability, and a low radiation (SAR) rating.
Thank you for any & all advice!

Moto Droid tips & tricks
What are some tips & tricks users have found?
Like for one I’m wondering if you can turn down the sensitivity on the screen keyboard. I didn’t initially see a setting for that, phones currently sitting on the charger.
It seemed too sensitive to me a lot of double letters.
Anything else, please share
AT&T is really mad at Verizon
They have bogus statements on their site such as:
"Only AT&T has the fastest 3G network, Verizon doesn't."
"AT&T has the most popular smartphones, Verizon doesn't"
"With AT&T you can talk and browse the web at the same time, you can't do that with Verizon"
"AT&T gives you access to more than 100,000 apps, that's way more than Verizon"
And if you click on a statement it doesn't show you any info beyond AT&T's statement.
What a load of crap. I know you are pissed, AT&T, but geez, this is PATHETIC
You know what this website says:
"OMG, we are losing our iPhone exclusivity next year, we better make ourselves look good"
You can't polish a terd, honey.

So what's the point? Weird that a competitor was kicking this company's ace with a new ad...just like Verizon is. Hmmmmmm...
Black Friday Sale any ideas?
Upgrade date positioning
I have an impending upgrade, it's due November 22nd and I'd like to upgrade as soon as possible to one of the Droid devices. I just found out I have to work on the 22nd (which eliminates my window to go as I work 10 hour days) and I'll have to work every day till the following wednesday. My question is: what is the best way to approach asking for a little leeway in this upgrade date, say... 2 days so I can get this taken care of on Friday instead of the following Thursday.
I know a lot of people feel they have an undeserved sense of entitlement so please be frank with me. If it's not something that can be done please say so, b...

Please HELP! I need out of my contract
I was stupid and bought a blackberry on the bogo about a month ago. I have had my new device about 40 days and have realized the folly of my decision...I didn't think I would be so impressed with the Droid phones but man, I am impressed....
Point being, is there ANY WAY to get out of this contract I signed with my wife a month ago, or am I hosed and now have to wait 1+ yrs to get the new droid?
Thanks for the help.

What if you type out a message with the physical keyboard then shut it, will the software then correct any mistakes?
