Day 176!
So should the takeover be completed at day 180? If so, then some great things should be happening very soon. We would be looking just a couple days before October starts. But who knows, it's tough to say how long they would hold off to announce it.

It would be VERY surprising if the the acquisition took place soon considering as far as I'm aware they haven't even asked for approval from the FCC yet.

The "Day 176 of 180!" IS the timeframe of Cingular's request of approval. For the past 176 days the FCC has been sorting through a HUGE amount of important numbers, proposals, and what Cingular's reasoning and expectations from acquiring AT&T.
Now the actual release of the FCC's decision may take weeks but Michael Powell, the chairman of the FCC is hopeful of a short additional two weeks before they announce their decision. Cingular however, is prepared to start integration ASAP.
