AOL Instant Messenger

When using AOL Instant Messenger on your phone, does it take up internet time and text messages or JUST text messages? Thanks in advance for your replies

Yes it does count twds your internet time as you need to connect to the internet to use the messenger aol is a totally differant thing than text messaging

Mmm...I was explained that it uses your internet usage to get your contact list but uses text messages to send messages. I could be wrong but that's how i was explained it.

There are 2 answers to this question. If your phone has AIM built in to the main menu, you are only using text messages. Meaning you do not have to launch the browser to get to AIM. On some of the phone you will find AIM on the main menu, just using text messages. If you have to launch the browser, you are using data only. It will not be both charges. If you are on the browser side each message back and forth with count against your kilobytes or megabytes. the downside to using it on the web side is that you have to stay logged onto mMode to know when you are getting an IM
