Plan variance

Lately I have been considering switching over to the GSM service from TDMA. I read on this forum and others about what kind of rate plans people are getting however when I call I get completely different stories. My contract has been up for awhile now so its not like I am locked in.

I have a premier account from work, a pretty weak one at that. The website states like 450 for nat and 500 for local 9 pm nights $20 extra to share for $39 plan. A CS rep told me today that the deal was 400 local or national for $39 and if i wanted to share that it was the same price? Nothing ever seems to match.
It seems quite common for people to be getting +650 mins, early nights, $9 add a line.

Does location matter for what CS reps can give you? Beca...

Oh yeah, you need to purchase a plan of 59.99 or higher to get night and weekend minutes at 7pm

The local is only 700 in some markets. In others its 600. you can only get early nights if you are on a 59.99 is true and you can only get the 9.99 add a line if you are on 59.99. The add a line price is fixed and cannot be changed unfortunatly. If you are looking for a national plan i would suggested the 59.99 and 9.99 add a line. that would give you early nights and 900 anytime minutes. Unfortunatly there is very little flexablity when migrating. If you want to stay with TDMA, and not on a family plan, then there is a ton of stuff we can give you (sorry grammar sucks...Sounds bad but i can't figure out how to fix it). But GSM has better phones and national plans...Kind of a trade off.

Thanks for the comments. I have heard of cases where people do get the 7pm nights on plans less than 59. To me the 59+ plans have so many minutes the 7pm nighs is not worth anything.
I can see the 600 minute local if i use the attwireless website, if I go through CS they insist that I would only get 400. Local, National doesn't really matter to me, I was looking to add a phone and thought that GSM would be the easier/cheaper way to go. Then I ran into the mangled web of pricing.
I am more afraid of how many minutes the little lady would use, that is why the early nights would be benifical.
It really looks like there are very little options for migration as opposed to renewing a plan, GSM or TDMA, which I think is a stupid mistake especi...

Again there are things we can do in TDMA that we can't do in GSM. Even so it's not really daring people to go else were because even our basic plans are better than most of our competitors.

What you are asking for would have been possible in late March early April. At that time there was a promotion for local $39.99 including 400 (base) plus 600 promotional with unlimited in network mobile to mobile, unlimited 9:00 PM night and weekends, and long distance. Once this opportunity could have been taken after 3 months the early 7:00 PM evenings promotion could have been added.

Promotions are based on 2 factors: market (population count) and competition. If a large market such as Los Angeles has a competitor offering a plan with promotions like the one I listed above, then AT&T Wireless and most likely other carriers will follow.

Just wait and be patient for such promotion to arrive at your location.

Is this stupid? Yes, i...

No he's not. The local 39.99 plan gives base 400 and 200 promo for a total of 600 anytime minutes. This is avaliable in all markets excep in a few that give 300 promo for a total of 700. This is the plan he's thinking of and this is the plan he should get if he agrees to a new one year contract which he will have to do just to migrate.

If you have a deal with your company, make sure you mention it to the rep you talk to, business care can cut some deals with early evenings and the $10 off cred for shared lines. I would recommend against going to a retail location if you are looking at changing your rate plan, but that is just prejudice on my part...
