Go Phone vs Free to Go

I had a customer that called me up with a cold transfer from SST (I assume because i know they cold right now for the next couple of days because they are having a problem). This customer was told we no longer take free to go cards. Being a 2g rep i said "Sure we do. on moment i'll get you to the free to go team" I get his wireless number so i can warm transfere him and try and look it up...Doesn't come up...turns out he has a GO phone. Much different as they don't take free to go cards because it is a plan not a purchase minutes prepaid. I'm pretty sure they are extreamly clear on how to pay those bills up front. Anyone else have a problem like this? I've never had this because i'm pretty sure they are very clear on how to pay.

because go phones require no credit and only a pin number for id my guess is this person probably got the phone from a friend or relative and never set it up themselves so not aware of how the payments work....people can buy a go phone from alot of places besides traditional phone dealers or aws retail so it is possible this person bought it at wallmart or something and failed to educate themselves before purchasing
