How do I open my own Indirect/Authorized Wireless Dealership?

I'm already in the industry (work in direct retail) and have a "angel investor" who's willing to fund me in opening in my own store.

I know almost nothing of the inner workings of the indirect channel however. Do I work through the company or a master dealer? How much startup capital is needed? Do I have to leave any deposits? How do I order handsets?

Any Tips/Advice/Guidlines/Contacts/Pitfalls would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

The requirements are quite easy to become a Wireless Indirect Dealer:
1) Learn how to lie to a customer.
2) Provide misinformation whenever possible.
3) Screw them over with fine print and 10 year contracts.
4) Add as many features as you can "free" and then after a bill cycle they get charged for them and call care and bitch and it takes us forever to remove them, just so you can get a few bucks in commission ofcourse.
5) Last but not least, BLAME THE CARRIER ALWAYS! 😁

Anyone could do that without entering in to a dealer agreement.

All you have to do is apply for a job as a salesperson directly for the company.

You and I know that is happening all the time.

Why lie or satirically offend anyone who wants to make a buck or even better 2 or more if possible.

Anyways, I liked your reply. I just found it to be bias.

I'm a store manager at an indirect Cingular dealer, and you're right. I see that happen all the time. I run my store right, but I can mention more that a few of my sister stores that do that crap all the time. In fact, my Cingular retail account manager (The guy at Cingular that is in charge of keeping the relationship working) "requires" that we add roadside assistance "free" for 2 months on all activations and upgrades. Of course, we have a database in our computer that we keep dates and phone numbers so we automatically remove the feature on the 59th day. Don't open a store. I just deal with managing the sales side, and I don't have to worry about the rent and contract submittal, and I work like 50 hours a week. You will spend all ...

Sorry, I may have been a little harsh, there are some excellent indirect dealers out there, its just normally in care we get all the horrible ones that I want to lock in a damp dark room and throw away the key.... 😳
