Switching from Verizon

I should call customer service to ask this question, but I'll ask it here first. I'm currently a Verizon customer and I want to switch to Cingular/AT&T. On www.amazon.com I found a deal where I can get $200 back and be able to pay my early termination fee. The only problem is that when I checked on amazon to see if I could keep my number it said that it wasn't available yet. If any of you know any way that I can keep mt number but still be able to get the phone and pay off my early termination fee let me know!

This is not a knock against Amazon.com, because I shop there all the time. Great prices and free shipping!

However, I have heard from more than one customer about their headaches when signing up for service thru them. Everything ranging from the wrong equipment, wrong promos/rate plans, being charged for features they should not be charged for, long equipment return process, etc. Take it for what you will....just be forewarned.

Hope it all works out for you.

About a year ago Cingular lost a lawsuit in which existing customers will activate a new service through a dealer such as Amazon that where giving exceptional equipment prices like the Mot v400 for free after instant discounts and mail in rebates something that Cingular's customer care co...
