New activation today - couple of questions?

I just activated today with AT&T wireless from Verizon. I wanted to get in before the 15th because to be honest I don't think the prices for cingular are any better than what I could get with AT&T. I realize that if/when I do migrate to the cingular plan I will have to buy new equipment, but that's down the road aways anyway.

Here's a few questions maybe someone can help me out:

1) How do I set up my voicemail, check it, etc?

2) I have the Nokia 3120 I want to put a custom wallpaper on it how do I do it. I need the picture to be 128x128 and less than 4096 colors right. So I can take a picture I have crop it to the size I need and reduce the image quality to less than 4096 colors then how do I get it to my phone? Is it possible?...

Well honestly I think you would have been better served to wait until the 15th,just my opinion however thats your decision.

In regards to voice mail what you do on your cell phone is press and hold down the 1 and when the display shows calling (whatever it shows, 🙂 ) then you should hear a recording (female voice) which will ask you for a temporary password which is 1111 (four ones)....Also in regards to the phone itself..if you received the owners manual I would seriously recommend reading through it as it will tell you alot about the phone and how it works....also att wireless has a decent support site....all you have to do is go to (www.attwireless.com/support) and put in your number and the put down that you are an Individual or End...

Thanks, I've looked through the manual already and it doesen't say anything about how to setup voicemail or customizing backgrounds. I'll check out the site.

And yes, I realize I made a contriversal decision by switching before the merger, but in all honesty if the prices and minutes that are listed on Cingulars "current" brochure stay the same, I can get a better deal while jumping in with AT&T. Really the only reason for waiting would be to see if I can get a better phone. Which I'm more than satisfied with the 3120.

Now if cingular does some massive re-arranging on there prices and minutes then I guess I could eat my own words 😉

Any ideas for the background stuff or will the website tell me how to do that?

Thanks,...

For the 3120, Nokia PC Suite can be downloaded for free, but a data cable will be needed. Hurry in to an ATTWS former store and get them more than half off!! They will be gone soon.

Use the "Edit Images" app in PC Suite to automatically convert your pic to the 3120 standards.

FYI, that attws.com/support site basically uses the same program we use in AT&T Wireless Legacy Care for troubleshooting and giving operational instructions. Anyone at least a little computer literate should try using it :-)

HA!
I looked at what Cingular is offering to migrate, in my case and I dare say most cases one has everything to lose and nothing to gain.

You can't get a regional plan with M2M and the plans are
lacking in time compared to what I have.

If your with AT&T (now BLUE) stay put.
