What is the CHEAPEST route to migrate from blue to orange? Especially for a family plan with 3 phones & 1 single line (totaling 4 phones). I don't plan on doing it, but it would be nice to know if I do decide to.

Does anyone even care about this question?
...
Sorry. Not everybody is online and posting on this forum 24/7.
...

Actually no, I wouldn't be surprised. I've seen it myself.
That, however, doesn't alter the fact that not everyone is on here posting on this forum 24/7. It may have been a slow period when you asked. Possibly nobody that was on at the time had an answer for you. Perhaps someone read it and was researching in the hour and a half between your posts.
Then again, it is possible that nobody who read it really cared.

It all depends on what plan you choose and what phone prices you qualify for. It may be that all 4 lines qualify for a free phone, but the selection would be limited to 1-2 phones probably.
Sorry for the vague answer, but until a rep can analyze exactly what you have now and then compare it to what is currently available.
Good luck! =)

If i go to the sotre, would i have to pay the fee up front or would i get billed for it?
...
The activation fee is charged no matter what method you go about purchasing a phone.
...
Ok so i called the store & he did advise me that they are offering the deals to family plans. He said that i would not get the same deals as online. also he said that i would lose my early nights & weekends, unless i pay $14.99. is this right?
...
you'd lost the 7pm nights and weekends without the 14.99

I had a call the other day where the customer wanted to have his promotional 300 minutes map through to the cingular plan or he wouldn't migrate(!)As far as I know aws promotions don't map over to cingular, so all you promo'd up people should keep that in mind when hunting the rollover minutes...
...
For all of you thinking of migrating to Cingular, keep n mind that everything you have with ATT will be gone, they are different billing systems, the towers you will be utilizing most of the time will be different. As well incoming text mesages are now charged, they are not unlimited like with ATT. A second thing is that you cannot bill your equipment purhcases to your invoice, they must be paid up front. When selecting a plan, as the previous respndant said, nothing will map over. No promos, features, credits, or anything. With all of that said, Cingular is an excellent option interms of coverage, minutes offered on new plans, technical support, fastest sim card procesing arounf (64 K).
...
thats because you don't need promotions, all the minutes and nights weekends are built into your plan based on what you take
...
So let me see if i have this right
If I do NOT switch, everything will remain the same:
Nights at 7
Free Incoming SMS
Rate plan stays the same
Fees the same
Is this right?

AS LONG AS THEIR CURRENT IS THERE,BUT NO MORE RENEWALS AND NO MORE AWS PROMOS, AND NO MORE AWS PHONES, AFTER CONTRACTS UP,THEN ALL BETS ARE OFF!!!!
...
thats not true...aws is still renewing contracts for current customers, even tdma...this is on a last resort save only basis...
...
Tell ,renewing with what, / theres ain't no phones, and there ain't no new promotions, so what are you gonna do sign up cuz they ask so they can keep their promotions for another 1 or 2 years. Anybody down the road will remove it if you do, they have to be receiving something and renewing ofr the same promotions ain't gonna cut it.
Trust me i already seen one of the departments within the old att departments remove contracts off of acounts, since they renewed hoping to keep their promotions again, namely that Charter 99.99 plans, i had so far 6 call in and check to make sure they were under contract, all six showing no contract as 1 department, and no not customer care removed the contracts, and they were not in the divesture markets eith...

they had us make about two hours worth of outbound calls last week dealing with blue to orange migration offering 3120's and c1300's, and as last resort, we were supposed to renew with what they had...all of which were currently tdma...some of the save promos were 350, 450, or 550 anytime minutes, depeding on the plan...we are honoring promos on att phones as well, like free v505's...but i do agree with you, these customers are gonna eventually be forced to orange, and lose all of these promos....this is also why we have been taking 99% go phone calls lately, which, as you may know, is lots of fun....

I'm an HVC rep and our lead offer is to be migration to Cingular. If they don't want to do that then we have to offer whatever is currently being offered and right now, there is still plenty out there. We just have to continually check the offers in CCnet and see what's available, as promos can be dropped at any time and that's what we have to tell the customer.
I extended 5 TDMA contracts today because the customer didn't want to migrate just yet. I try to make it very clear to the customer that if they try to 'upgrade' their plans and/or phoens later, they may no choice but to move to Cingular or stay where they are.
...
You keep on signing them up, then we can force migrate them all at 1 big time.i'll just making them migrate now!!!!

I agree... I am very proficient at ignoring Agent Debit after his info... or 'lack of' surrounding the merger... Works well... Every now and then I have to agree with him though... like now.
...
He's a smiley abuser...how cruel...
...
It seems to me that he's just getting tired of saying the same thing over and over and over again.
...
Well maybe he should think of this this way... we are not stupid. we see the commercials. obviously if you come to this site, you see his stupid remarks. I personally have seen over 30 threads telling people that AT&T doesn't exist anymore & that we need to comprehend this. I AM NOT A F*ING IDIOT. Its people like him that make me wonder why I even bother to stay with the company.

CHEAPEST WAY in STORE: 4 Sony Ericsson 237s @ 9.99 each with 2 year contracts + $18 upgrade fee each....upgrade fees (72.00) billed to next bill, phones up front (36.xx).
Back in the ATTWS days though, this Sony model wasnt the greatest in reception performance, so its up to you how much your price-bottom-line vs. reception quality matters.
