Please forgive meπ€ , as I did post this in another thread & it is the best way I can explain what they are about.
In a nutshell... Temp agencies have unleashed their minions out on Cingular (formerly ATTWS) with minimal training. The minions don't know what they are doing most of the time. They cant remember what your question was so they have to write it down. They don't know how to explain bills & they definitely do not know how to properly handle customers. They promise to give you the moon & when it is time to deliver... its a bottomless pit of empty promises.
Does this pretty much sum it up? I don't think so π‘... What are your thoughts?

SST is a position that was designed to bring down "hold in queue" time. Before the implementaion of these reps the hold time to speak with care was over an hour, atleast from what I expirenced. There job is to screen calls for the fully trained care reps. They recieved 10 days of training vs. Care Reps 6 or 7 weeks. They are to take the simple calls such as taking a payment or basic trouble shooting.

And destroy all that is held sacred in the world of Rumbala...
...
They are the minions of Satan, and here to destroy whats left of customer service. Actually a lot of them are quite good, but I would say 30% are incompetant. In my call center we are eliminating SST and training all the dolts, to handle all customer service issues. A few of them here got caught still transfering customers to care pretending they were still SST reps. hahahaha! idiots!

Exactly. Bartender summed it up brilliantly. If the customers don't mind waiting on hold for over an hour to speak to somebody, then I wouldn't mind finding another job. Perhaps a job in which they MIGHT treat me like an "equal", God forbid.
We're not ALL lepers, nor dolts or automatons. But unfortunately fully trained care reps view us as such, as a few of you (namely DieSST...not like you're being at all surreptitious with that nom de plume) have periodically demonstrated.
C'est la vie, I will continue to do my job to the best of my ability. If you don't like it, well, I guess you all can continue to hide behind "user names" and lambaste the "temps".
My only "sweet revenge" is seeing a fully trained rep doing the "ten day" CSE ...

The problems with the MAJORITY of SST Reps, is they either can't read the bill the customer can't,so we have to basically explain it twice,or COLD Transfers to us Real Reps, and i say that cuzi'm tenured with 4 years actual, practical expierience, or worse, SST thinking they know the situation with a customers account, and proosiing them credits then after showing the rep they were, having to act like a BAD explaining why the SST rep was wrong, which oof course either pisses off the customer or don't believe the Rep since obviously the rep that offered the credit ustbe right, which make us out into Escalating the call.
I'm not saying all SST reps are bad, but the majority SUCK ASS!!!!
...
That probably sums it up. Fortunatly i work in TDMA so the best they can say to my customers is "Um let me transfer you" So i don't really get any of that problem. But my GSM friends to talk about them. Supposidly they have been getting better so we shall see. There is a big push right now for shapping up the Customer service ratings.

Problem is they want professional world class customer service while paying fast food wages. You should see these temps they are bringing into my call center, paying them nothing then wondering why they can't do the job. I don't know how Cingular pays, but ATTWS lowers the pay per hour by a dollar every year. Soon they are going to be paying reps minimum wage.
...
Where i am the starting is $9.00, that is almost 2 dollars more the minimum. Then afeter 3 months you get a raise. Isnt bad. π²

DieSST... you're in the L.A. call center? If you are, I COMPLETELY understand what you're saying about the SST reps in our call center. When you go out into the parking lot doesn't it seem like we're at a club?? With the way some people are dressed and the music bumping from the cars it sure does seem that way.
