UNWILLING TO LET GO OF TDMA PHONES
This woman just called in upset because she felt that she was being screwed on her rate plan. She felt as though it was our job to call her to let her know that there were better plans available...but thats another story...anyway, so I explain to her the gsm nation plans. She's on the DOR 79.99 getting 650 minutes, and I tell her that she can get on the Nation 1250 and get a lot more for her money, or go down to 49.99 for 600 minutes. She asks if she has to change phones, and I say yes but tell her about the free phones she eligible for. She immediately gets upset because she doesnt want to change her phone. I let her know that the phone is totally F-R-E-E but she refuses to let go of her Panasonic EB TX320. Then she gets mad because she can...

Because she is a tdma customer, they usually had analog then switched, and those people REALLY HATE CHANGES!!!
They want the company to bend over for her and "We'll give you that plan on your service" without thinking it through.
Bottom line is you can coddle them and then after a while just lay down the LAW like "Mam you have 3 choices, you can stay on your plan and keep the benefits you have, move to a newer plan with a newer phone , or you cancel your service, but if you do, you will have to get a new phone as well, and with the other carrier you pay a 36.00 start of service fee, what would like to choose?"
Soemtimes you just gotta hit them right between the eyes with the truth, otherwise they think that someone will create that ...

how about the stupid car kit for 5165's?????
they get so mad that we don't offer the 6340i anymore and we don't sell another phone that fits that cradle!!! cause it is all MY fault.

I also had a customer come in and was given a v60 gsm single band phone with his bmw. has been calling cingular about the bad service on a phone he didn't get from us!!!
Came into store and i explained why his service is poor with that phone, and he complained and said he was going to get BMW to replace it, ridiculous!

I had that same call two weeks ago, this guy swears up and down we have the 6340i because the nokia website says we carry it. I'm a blue rep so I never even heard of it. I look it up and tell him its discontinued, and he's ready to throw a holy fit. The guy left his home number and asked me to call him when they recontinue the phone...my guess is he's still waiting... 🙄
