I Thought Up This Theory At Work So....

I know this is kind of off topic, but while I was waiting between calls, I came up with a theory...
If any one of us (well most of us) were to jump into a time machine and fly back to 1905, we would be considered extremely smart with the knowledge we have now, for that particular time period. However, if we were to jump in a time machine and fly 100 years into the future instead, we would be considered extrememly stupid for that time period.
Therefore we dont know how intelligent someone is or was until we first learn what time period that person existed. So its a known fact that human intelligence has been evolving since the begining of human existance. Right now humans use approximately 14% of our total brain capacity. What if that is l...

i see a few flaws in your theroy. first of all human evolution is mainly based off of behavoiur. not inteligence physical appearnce etc. look back...our appperance has remained very much the same since the dark ages. its only our behavoiur, and in turn technology that has changed. ie, we encounterd new situatons, and were forced to come up with new soultoins to those, and therefore in turn encounterd even newer situations and so on and so forth. take into consideration the peak of our current technology was developed in the first half of the 1900's. everything since has simply been improovments on exsisting technology. there have been some new creations, but alot of our technology is simple upgrades to older technology. (including wireless ...

You know, that make sense to me. I never thought of it that way. I also agree that there are two realms one physical and one spiritual...although i do not have a religion. i feel religion and faith are two different things. I beleive there is a supreme being b/c its hard to to think that everything here today, on earth happened by accident. having certain gasses and molecules and protein mix together in a current seqeunce, during the perfect the tempuratures in a specific region to form a single celled organism to evolve into the dominant species on the planet; its just as likely as a tornado to go through a junk yard and putting together a fully functional 747 jet..the probability is there but not possible..as well i don't think we have eno...

oh another good point! i agree with marsuns on this chances of us being randomly created are highly improable. in fact scientists have estimated that in order for human life as we know it to evolve from random molecules, it would take well over 100 billion years. kind of difficult when the earth is only like 3 billion years old. so that leaves us with a few wacked out human origin ideals. first is a supreme being....(god/s) considering the mass of religions on this rock of ours, and almost all of them feature a deity of some sort who created us...id say it warrents some credit. but also consider the "telephone game" ....tell one person "i like purple grapes" and after 100 repetitions, it turns into "purple monkey strawberry space goo" same ...

I never said anything about religion.....i personally beleive that there is a supreme being who can comprehend the existance of the universe....nobody told me this, it's the way i feel.therefore the "telephone game" is irrelevent to my opinion.

if you had NEVER heard of any relgion at all, or never even been around someone who belived in a relgion/higher being, you would either a, have no clue what we are talking about...or make up your own to explain things you cant comprehenmd. its humnan nature to try and explain everything...and when we cant, we make up/ devise explanations....look at the ancient greek gods. prime example.

i mean that have no relegion past down to me over 1000 of years to have the "telephone game" effect, perhaps i may of confused you sorry if i did...i simply saying that i do believe in a supreme being. i am not saying that i believe in any god depicted in varouis relegions, or ancient greek mythology.

😳 Holy crap, that was close to a theory of mine, except I forgot what it was now. Yeah my religion we believe in God and all that stuff. I believe in the telephone theory of yours as well. It's how the bible probably came to be as of today. From what I have heard, there are some major contradictions in that book... oh and too ruin the ending for everybody, he dies in the end.

I dont think we will ever be able to complete 100% of our evolution process. We do not have nearly enough time on this earth.
If we can quickly find a way to get off this rock, and keep humans in existance, we will continue to evolve... but our planet will never make it that long.
Back in 1998, a guy born in Isreal (not even going to try to spell his name) went on TV and warned the world about 9/11. Of course no one believed him and it happened just like he said. Immediately following Sept 11th, the same guy went on TV predicting the Asian Tsunamis. Of course everyone just said he is crazy. But since the tsunami happened, the same guy is back on TV saying that a huge natural disaster is going to stirke Switzerland next. Not sure what is ...

well if our behavous manages to evolve enough so that we have the ability to either a: assist as needed when **** happens, or b: completley prevent it. but i agree. we need to get our act together fast...or, to quote oh so many popular people "we're all gonna die!"

You are really far off base as to the theories of human evolution, neuroanatomy, and brain function.
Humans gracioiusly use 100% of their brain. We are as of yet very unclear as to how the brain cells initmately function with each other and function in a holistic manner.
There is no such thing as 100% evolution. Evolution is a completely random process that has no end. Human evolution, as a direct line, began ~7 million years ago. By your theory that we have another 86% of evolution to go, that will only take another 50 million years to achieve. Evolution started in total over 50 billion years ago. If we are only 14% evolved since that point, it would take another 357.14 billions years to complete this evolution process (of course as...
