Changing Rate plans
It used to be that with ATTWS you were able to adjust your rate plan up or down within the billing cycle and that change would be effective for the whole billing cycle. I just called to adjust my plan (lower it) and they told me it will be in effect starting tomorrow but not from the beginning of the cycle.
What gives? is that true?
...
Disregard whatever you were told on that call cuz if you call right back, another Blew rep will tell you the complete opposite
...
right, then call a 3rd and 4th time and again, you will receive different answers.
...
actually if you are tdma you can backdate to the start of your bill cycle but if gsm it would be effective the next day or the start of your next bill cycle.. there is physically no way to backdate on gsm
...
Why is that .... can you explain ?
...
because tdma and gsm are run out of 2 different billing systems with different system limitations.. the gsm system does not allow for altering the date to a prior date but the tdma system does
...
you must be a gsm customer. siebel doesn't back date. So if you change your rate plan in the middle of a bill cycle, you are gonna get a prorated invoice with reduced buckets of minutes to draw from. the alternative is to have the rep submit an nwrs form and have the rate plan change take effect on the start of the next billing cycle.
