WHINING ABOUT FREE PHONES

Why do customers complain about what phones they can and cant get for free? Are we obligated to always give everyone a free phone, and to give a certain type of phone? If we are then someone please tell me, maybe i've been wrong all along.

I just had a customer call in mad at me because she got a flyer for a free LG C1300, but she doesnt want that. Ms. Customer wants a Motorola V551, and she will cancel her contract and pay the $175 ETF to switch to T-Mobile if she cant get the phone she wants for free. Ms. Customer also refuses to call the promotion-specific number on the flyer, she wants to call Customer Care, because everyone in this great big ATT/Cingular Call Center should have access to the same information, so she should be able to...

And you know what, she'd pay all of that and then think to herself, "Hmph! I showed them!" 😛 😎

Thats cool, i hit them right between the eyes with that truth, to get that free phone, you pay a $175 penalty for breech of contract, the start of service 36.00, and then you don't get another discount from them like you just did either, so to get a free phone, you just spent $211.00, hope its worth it!!!!

I get that a lot, but I usually talk them into buying a phone at full price with no contract extension by comparing that full price with ETF + activation + cost of phone for new customers. Usually (Full Price)

By their logic, every single year they should get a free phone. Do they not realize that somebody has to pay for the phones? And what baffles me further is when they complain about the 2 year contract too. HELLO! You wanted a free phone and as the saying goes, "Nothing in life is free." There has to be balance, we give you a free phone, you commit to 2 years with us. You want a better more expensive phone, we give you a certain percentage off and you commit to 2 years again.

I had a customer telling me that T-Mobile gave his brother a Moto Razr for free with a one year agreement, and the customer was considering paying the ETF with us to get the same thing. The customer tried to escalate for the free razr, but finally gave up.

HAHAHA A phone that is only offered by Cingular (Phonescoop even indicates this), and the customer stated his brother got it free from T-Mobile. Please tell me you advised him that this phone is only available from Cingular just to her there long pause before they respond?

Yeah, of course I did, I also went into detail on how T-Mobile only has 1900MHz whereas Cingular offers both 800MHz and 1900MHz.

Why do they insist on making up stories instead of at least researching ANY info at all?

Oh, that's a bunch of BS. Two months ago, I could not get a 6800 for less than $150. A Razr for free?! LMAO Somebody's lying. Besides, T-Mo doesn't even carry the Razr. psht

Yeah and I am going to go demand a free meal from my favorite restuarant because I spent so much money with them and I have been a loyal customer for over 300 billion gazillion years when I have only actually been going to them for 2 months now.

Yeah, I've been a loyal McDonald's customer for over 20 years now, so they owe me about 20 free supersized Big Mac meals, right???

And what about AOL? I'm a loyal customer to them to, so where's my free computer with DVD burner included???

I pay my car note on time, where's my free car???

Man, i'm really getting ripped off here...maybe I should take my business elsewhere, eh?
