Since Cingular is rebranding Take Charge as Go Phone on the 13th of this month, I'm very worried about customer confusion. It appears the Cingular Go Phone will still require automatic debit, but I believe the current AT&T Go Phone can have cash payments made at stores on a monthly basis.

Are both forms still going to be supported? Will current Go Phone subscribers be forced to change their billing method? Will the current Go Phone subscribers be divested?

They've provided those of us in retail with Cingular only stores with only a scarce bit of information and I'd like to know what to tell the confused customers next week. It's a headache for them now, and I can just imagine the incredulous stares customers will give me next wee...

Thanks for the info! Now I know what to tell current Go Phone customers who wish to make a payment as well. That actually will make things a little clearer to understand, that no store can accept payment.

go phone payments can still be made in stores. for ATTWS anyway. right now those are the main ATTWS products being sold. I work in new account service and go phones account for about 7 out of every 10 calls I get. The thing is if they dont choose the autopay(they choose cash payments or one time payments), they cannot get free nights with plans under 69.99.

Well I imangine that current go phones will stay the same for now and all new go phones will be under the Cingular policy and they dont like to have 2 systems for things so they will try to have the current go phone cust migrate to cingular by offering them something that appears shiny

ATTWS branded customers can't migrate since they are a)pre-paid, and aren't allowed to migrate their number for the same reason. When its no longer suppported, Cingular Orange may let them migrate their number, but till then they are outta luck.

yeah they could cancle there ATTWS service and start new Cingular service I guess the word migrate was missleading but I'm sure cingular will be sending them verbiage in what they can get out of a cingular go phone so they dont have to support both systems

Yeah, pre paids have no contracts sop they can go and come as they please, just if they want to switch to a cingular pre paid service , the New Orange go-phone, just let them know any money on their Blue go phone account is a)Non transferrable, and b)non refundable, its advised in their terms of service of both, but to avoid them looking for refunds are balance transfers ,just let them know, and remind of that, thanks.
