I called today to make the switch from ATT to cingular. I have a 59.99 dollars family share plan with 2 other phones for 9.99 each. I get 850 min. and 7pm night and weekends. They wanted to charge me 59.99 a month plus 9.99 each additional line for 3 months. Then it goes up to 19.99 each additional line, and I would get only 600 min and lose the 7 pm night and weekends. You would have to be a moron to make a switch like that. I have about 17 months remaining on my ATT contract then I can shop around.

Where the hell is 600 mins coming from? 😕

Thats ok, i just had a customer who had the charter plan, 99.99 unlimited minutes and uses A LOT ,like up till 2 months ago, uses like 4000 minutes a month only 1000 for nights and weekends, so usage dropped from that EVERY Month to like 200 minutes, his phone only works on an area where its cingular's network, and on his charter plan and old phone will only pick up att towers, so he had a choice go to a new plan for 149.99 or keep your charter plan with no coverage, he thinks we need to give him cingular coverage, and let him keep his plan as a cingular plan, and best part is he got the phone in jul,2004 for 2 year renewal through indirect dealer, which he signed, so he can't even get out of the contract with an ETF.

He says we have to g...

So we have a guy who is upset and is going to slag the company all around and be upset and go somewhere else... I dunno... Yes the charter plans are insane, and yes Cingular doesn't have to give you a new phone to keep you on it, but shutting down the network doesn't benefit anyone. This is a lose lose situation.
