Ok, I've been reading threads on this website for almost a month now, especially in the Cingular forum. Many things have become apparent.

1st. The "Merger" between Cingular and AT&T has done nothing but create a clusterf#%k in the wireless industry. The idea of the Ma Bell break up was to create competition, to better benefit the customer, giving them multiple choices as to who they want to have service with at an affordable rate with out getting screwed in the process. The AT&T subscribers are totally getting the short end of the stick, while being forced in many markets to migrate to Cingular ( I believe it is referred to in the trade as migrating from Blue to Orange) while getting penalized for being a customer of the company they ...

I'm not gonna yell, can't talk about others down the road. Are former getting screwed?, well let's see, if they want to change their plan, now they migrate from old expired att packages to current cingular packages, now let's flashback to say 1 year ago, i want to chaneg my plan, i left my expired att package for the current package, and renew my contract, so thats not changed.

Next switching means getting a new cingular device along with that plan and $18.00 upgrade fee, flash back to 1 year ago, going from ATTWS TDMA to GSM, had to get a new GSM Device, and paid $15.00 for uograde fee, and $9.95 shipping, so since merger, that means cingular costs them less, so that a plus for cingular.

So eliminating promotions, let's see you go to a...

not trying to sound rude but lets go back to July 2004 and compare Cingular to ATTWS and if you claim that in Nov a customer would loose all there promos by switching from 39.99 plan to 59.99 then why would he switch considering there old plan would have more minutes than the new promo free plan so why would they agree to pay more and get less minutes? Unless you think customers is truly stupid or you that customers think Cingular is a charity

Cingular 39.99
450 AT national Minutes
5000 N&W ( granted to most people 5000 is same unlimited)
Unlimited M2M
Rollover
7PM N&W extra 7.99
add a line 19.99 never had a promo for 9.99 under 59.99 plan.

ATTWS 39.99 plan
400 AT National Minutes + bonus Minutes anywhere from 400-800 minutes i...

1. I can’t really comment on the loss of benefits on business accounts as I was an AWS customer care, now a Cingular Migration representative. How are people being penalized for migrating? We waive the ETF if you’re under contract and charge you less then half of the start of service fee. I also can’t comment on stock information as well.

2. I am neither brain washed nor a stock holder and I show compassion to someone who isn’t DEMANDING everything be credited back to them because it was their fault. I get paid by our “god” to do what they want me to do, it’s called doing your job.

3. I don’t think all customers are stupid, just the ones that shouldn’t be allowed to use a wireless phone. I have seen multiple cases where customers NEED...

If you have been looking at wireless plans for more than a year then you know that plans change all the time. A few years ago AWS had an unlimited GSM plan, but that was a "promo" plan just to pull people onto their new GSM network. Several years before that AWS had plans that gave you something like 10-20 minutes for $30. Point is, things change, and when you look at one companies plans you really have to look at the entire industry.

Back in the day, the original One Rate plan from AT&T was great, now it looks REALLY expensive and lame compared to ANY other national plan, even the old AWS GSM plans. And all of that happened way before the merger. This "everything was much better before X happened" is a really old song, many folks fear ch...

i am not going to write a novel about this cause i have a job to do, but i was unaware of any ATT customer being FORCED to migrate.

They are only required to migrate if they want to purchase equipment directly from us. Heck, if they can find new equipment elsewhere that will work with their ATTWS account, more power to 'em.

Also if they want to change their package from local to national or vice versa, they are required to migrate as well, as they can only stay on the blue side if they want to change within the same family EX: local 39.99 to local 74.99 or national 49.99 to national 59.99, if they leaving one family for another migration IS REQUIRED!!!

Good to know.

See, one person in one department does NOT know every policy and procedure for every other department.
