Nominations...
In my teams meeting today we found out that we can nominate another rep for a luncheon with the head of our call center. One of the reps in my team mentioned that it would most likely be to popularity game. I agree with him fully. It sounds just like things were back in highschool. I'm not that popular of a guy, and neither is a couple of other ppl in this call center, so therefor most likely me and the select few will never get nominated. Not that many ppl would want to eat lunch with the head of this call center but none the less there will be an unfair advantage for the more liked/popular ppl here. Sorry, just thought I would vent my feelings on this subject here before I vent on a customer.

i hear that. if someone dosent like a person and happens to over them doing a good job, they will probally not nominate said person....but they will be very likley to nominate there best friends for every little thing....now dinner with the boss sounds more like a punishment then a prize if you ask me.....and those of you here in good ol middle of nowere canada know what i mean. i know the team i am on works off major popularity. its all based upon what you look like how you dress.....were you eat at lunch....and so on. if its one thing i cant stand, its politics. and this nomination BS is just bringing in more politics then ever.

so what are ppl to do? lol I like to be recognized for my efforts and not how much I can drink at the bar or how many ppl I have slept with. It's just not fair. I work my ass off to have good QA and be a nice person in which anyone can talk to. I dont talk trash, and I dont party. I just do my job, and at night I go home to my beautiful fiance and talk to her as I fall asleep. Not only do I do my job, but I do it to the best of my efforts. Not half assed. âšī¸

Why doesnt your supervisor have the only ability to nominate employees who they feel are doing the best job on the team for quality and attendance etc. This way its a nomination of ability and not popularity. I am not the most popular guy but im here to do a job and I do a good job if I do say so myself. Why cant I get nominated for a free lunch instead of someone that goes out and parties all the time but does a terrible job. Who is more deserving of that nomination??

Because that would actually make sense and have everything be fair and just. And as we all know in this centre, we can't have that. Then again, if we (and I refer strictly to the intelligent reps) understood every ill-conceived notion and bad decision management made, we'd be management.

This is an interesting topic because it seems like a few reps really WANT to spend time with the boss. WHY?! For the love of all I know - I would never want to spend a single second with the head of MY call center - mainly because I am worried about having to give him mouth to mouth when he tries to hold a conversation with his head so far up his ass. But that's just me .. whether its about popularity or not, I don't know - but I do know this - if I had to spend time outside of work with Mr I've-never-actually-taken-a-call-in-my-life-b ut-I-won-this-job-in-a-drunken-bet, I would knife myself - or him. Probably him.
