Customers trying to make deals

Someone please explain this to me, because I never get it. Why do throw out hints about offers other carriers provide when trying to "negotiate" with us? If the deal with the other carrier is so good, and we refuse to or cant match it, why dont you just go to the other carrier?

For example, this lady calls me to ask about the new plans, and we're discussing a 29.99 plan. She's trying to get me to up the minutes, because somebody else (T-Mobile or Verizon, I think) offers 1000 minutes for 29.99, or so she claims. She asks me what I can offer her to beat that, and I again reiterate what we have. Then she starts to go off on me. WHY??? I told you what we got, you know what the other guy has, if the other guy is so good then why are you still...

They're just trying for the best deal they can get, cant blame them, I just love to go to the company in questions webpage and ask where exactly they found this information because I have thier site in front of me and I can find it anywhere. Makes the customers real quiet

I love to do that too. Actucally I am checking out brand x right now and it would appear that they do not offer unlimited minutes for 5 dollers. where excatly where did you find that on thier site. 🙂

See people here that know i'm upfront and right to the point, i tell them if the offer they are spouting is something we can't match i suggest that they take it, when they say i'm not trying to save their business, tell them its not our job to save anyone, its our job, to offer assistance and help customers make decisions, so if thats the best deal on the market- if its real, then i'd suggest they may want to take it.

The problem, is i'm a transplanted Canadian living here in Paramus, and here the mentality is look for the best bargain, and if neccesarry bluff and hope the other person folds.The problem here is bluffing don't work, Cingular does not beleive in ADD on promotions, just whats their is there bulit in the plan, which more and ...

It will when they finally learn that they can't just wheel and deal to get the credits they want. Of course, the die-hards are still on ATTWS, so the wheeler/dealers will be around for a while.
