Can't call a specific area code?
hey guys, my girlfriend can't call a specific area code on her cell...an error mesasge comes up when she's dials it. and it is only for a certain area code. anyone know what the problem is? she called attws customer service and told her to basically turn on/off the phone, take out the battery...blah blah blah but still no help? any feedback will be great, thanks

Okay I've had this one as a rep, first try dialing other prefixs with same area code this will tell us whether it was for sure the area code or the prefixes. If it area code then it may be a none allow codes that is not able ot be dail due to it routing over seas the reverse charges like chat lines etc. more likey it a simple thing like the area code or prefixed is not loaded into the call table Tec can file a ticket Via Customer care , however the ticket would have no ETR. Make sure you call care via landline. Get rep to place test call to number you are dialing 🙂

Exactly. Also if the its an 800 number or other toll free inbound number there could be another explanation... If the carrier is back-hauling their traffic to the MTSO outside of the calling range for the toll free in bound number the mobile to land-line call comes down onto copper or fiber from an area that can not call it... thus an error message indicating it can not be called.
