Beyond Flippin Frustrated, because I tried to stay loyal to ATT/Cingular!

I am beyond flipping frustrated. I have tried so hard to be patient, and now I've shot myself in the foot by doing so, as my thirty day trial has expired.

I was an ATT customer for a long time, beyond my initial service contract. I was happy with my service, and grateful for my military discount. My old phone died, so I called to find out about new plans, should I buy a new phone. I opted for a new phone and plan because I was assured by the very polite representative that she would preserve my foundation account discounts, and she carefully listed my minutes within the plan and they were perfect. I also ordered accessories through this nice woman.

Phone arrived, accessories did not. I waited, as she warned me they wouldn't come ...

Sorry to read your story. This is the kind of Cingular b.s. I was talking about.

If you've purchased that phone in the last 30 days, you should contact your point of sale as soon as possible to return it, as what you are describing sounds like you probably have a defective phone.

Were you actually charged for the accessories? If so, you may want to get a care rep who knows what they are doing. If not, you might want to just go purchase locally.

Hey Playbat, what you need to do is call in and request to be transferred to business end user care, BEUC reps are able to order your accessories and will be able to provide you with your military pricing. As for the additional mins, you may need to speak to national business services for that part, but the BEUC rep would make that determination.

as for Blazin, I really hate to in any way encourage your behaviour, but if you hate the company so much and aren't willing to migrate to cingular to fix the reception (or what other issues you are having) then I have one piece of advice--- LEAVE!!!

Hope this helps, play

Your story gets told thousand of times everyday. You decided you should do business with a faceless entity in a cubicle instead of going into a retail store where you could interact with a person who you could hold accountable if they screwed up.

By the time you will manage to walk into a retail store expecting a blameless person to straighten out the mess, you will be at the end of your patience and will give off an attitude which will immediately poison your interaction with them.

Next time...go to a real person at a real location. If they are sitting face to face with you, they can't hang up on you.

Well i hope that discount was worth it!You chose to stay on ATT rather then switching to Cingular.BTW the reps who told you would lose those extra promotions was right. All promotions were expired on the ATT side as of Nov 15,2004, which is when the "official" buyout of attws was done.

Now after that point, if you move to GSM, since there is no more TDMA phones, but refuse to go to cingular because of that discount you take your own risk. All promotions "extra minutes" were expired, so anybody can add them on, but our "CRM" department can see when they were added on, and if they were added on, after the prootion was "retired or expired" then they -CRM will remove them off.No they don't notify you, cuz that was covered in your original terms...

Mr.PIR said:If it is near a cingular orange tower is will cause interference with your phone, often dropping you.

Can you confirm your source for this information. I'm interested to know myself. 🙂

I have confirmed it from speaking with our tier II tech team.before the merger we had limited access to the cingular towers, so your phonw would only pick one (cingular) if there was no att tower there.Afer ther merger, they provided full access to all the cingular towers since of they own the former attws as well.

No what happens is that it picks upthe att tower, but since it also will be near the cingular topwer your tower is like a confused child it doesn't know who to go to, so it gets 2 problems.

1 problem is that two towers which are transmitters in close proximity to each other will cause interference in signal, and 2 it doesn't know which tower to use, since after the merger its like opeing the flood gates, so it'll jump back ...
