Waiting for a refund check
I migrated from ATTWS to Cingular back in December, In January A credit showed up on my bill for a decent chunk of money ($100+) So I called in 1/26 and requested a check for it. They tell that's fine and it would take 1-2 weeks. well 2 weeks went by and no check so I called back, This time they tell me it can take 2-4 weeks, So I waited another 2 weeks and still no check so I called back and I got told 4-6 weeks.
How long does it really take to get a refund check for ATTWS. Is it really 4-6 weeks or am I just getting a line of B/S

It will take 3-5 weeks for the refund. This is according to AT&T Wireless info. Make sure the reprasentative did a NWRS form for that and have them give you the 6 digit form number so that you can call back and verify this info.

Ok I do actually work at a Call Center as well and I have access to siebel, I can see they did fill that form out on my account at the End of January. I just didn't know as far as refund checks go since this is a Secondary Sales center not alot of info round these parts about refund checks.
Thanks for the Help though

Hmmm. Isn't that against the Code, checking your own account...?

Yes, but as long as you don't change any information on it or try to credit yourself your ok. Seen people get fired for that many times. At this point it's a cancelled acct, really can't do anything with it. I just look to see what reps write about me

I know what you mean. I just recently cancelled my insurance on my GSM line. I did a request thru NEAS website, got confirmation it was done. I expected to see a prorated charge on my new bill. Guess what? I see a full monthly charge of 4.99. I looked up my acct, it's still there. No wonder customers hate us.

Exactly I don't think it's wrong to look up your account to make sure some one else did their job

Actually, according to the Code of Conduct and the Ethics training, it IS against the regs to even access your own account, just to look at it. That exact item was specifically mentioned in the latest Ethics training...
Just a heads-up, don't want you to get dinged...

In my experience it takes from 50-60 days. Some reps just don't want a conflict and say 1-2 weeks because they know what to say to get you off of a phone.
The request won't be fulfilled until the ATT acct has been closed for 60 days, then it takes 4-6 weeks. ☹️ Just bringing you the truth. It's not always pretty.
