hello,
I am looking for a new phone for my AT&T/ Cingular account.
The most important criteria for the new phone is that it can recieve pictures from other phones, that it has a high resolution screen (probably 65k TFT screen?), and that it does NOT have a camera. I was also hoping that the new phone might have the ability to store photos in a password protected folder.
I know i can search for phones using this site, but i didnt know how to set it up for this criteria and i also wanted some peoples opinions.
anyway, thanks in advance for your help,
adam

sorry, but there NO More ATT phones, when the merger was done in nov,2004 cingular stopped all production of att branded phones, so they aren't like any to use or sell, the only phones now are cingular branded phone, and that requires a migration over to a cingular plan and cingular service and new contract.
That being said if you migrate got for the v-220, good phone good reception, and as a bonus it does have a camera.

ok so i guess i will have to switch my plan over to cingular then. thanks for your quick reply, but i must stress that it is important that my new phone does NOT have a camera. the reason for this is that my work does not allow the employees to have a phone with a camera. yes i know it is a stupid rule, but what can you do. this is why i would like my new phone to be able to recieve pictures from my friends that have camera phones and for it to have a high resolution so the pictures actually look good.

the lgf9100 seems like a sweet idea, this way you can this way it wont be such a pain sending sms at werk , (for those time when you need to send it quickly)
...
I'd suggest the Motorola v180. It has a great screen with sharp resolution. Photos sent from most other phones will still look quite good, and since it doesn't have a camera, it's still safe for sensitive work-sites.

Yes, i was thinking about that one. my only concern was that the screen seemed really small. I was also looking at the Samsung X427M and the LG F9100, do you know anything about these?
...
I don't have any experience with LG's f9100, so I can't give an accurate review. However, I am familiar with the l4015/c1300 twins. For most things, it seems like a great entry- to mid-level flip phone.
I also have quite a bit of experience with the Samsung x426/427. In most respects, it's a great lightweight competitor to the LG flips.
One caveat, though- the Samsung* has plenty of "musical" ringtones (which all sound great), but no plain old traditional rings. The aforementioned LG flips have several rings of both kinds, regular and fancy.
*- the experience I have is with the Samsung x426 for AT&T Wireless, used this past summer. The ringtones/features may differ on Cingular's x427m
