I thought our mindless bickering was...well...mindless, but after glancing over half a thread everything I've read here, including posts from 1stCanuck seems almost scholarly. I'm rather proud of us for discussing the issues in life more important than Verizon vs. Cingular. Issues like abbreviations, punctuation, bad calls and the like. Thanks guys, let's keep the babbling rhetoric up! 🤣 😁 🤣

They don't give me any reason to want to do my job. 🤣 Until they do I will continue going back and forth about whether or not it's socially acceptable to spell phone f-o-n and how shorthand has undermined the intelligence of the average American. (I know I should let that go but it's just too funny.)

The best way to get rid of those people is to have them open their owner's manual. Generally, once they figure out they can do it with two hands or without awkwardly balancing their landline on a shoulder, they will find the info themselves and think the world of you. Either that or they take it as though you're lazy and just don't want to help even after you've explained the info you have is the same book on a computer. If they come back with, "I don't have the manual" then you can always remind them that their manufacturer's website will give them the option to d/l the manual for free.
