Update on the day that never ended...

So far it hasn't been AS bad as I thought it would be. Aside from the fact that every customer I speak with wants something I can't offer and swears I could do whatever it is they're asking but I'm not because I just don't want to. Looks like they've finally figured me out. Naturally I would much rather repeat myself neurotically for ten minutes than provide a solution that would keep me from getting screamed at.

On a funnier note, I've noticed that if I zone out while an India rep is droning on with a bunch of information I don't need that it sounds like I'm talking to a turkey.

Don't feel too bad, everybody has these days! I had a call today, woman checking up on the status of her backordered exchange handset--told her it had shipped on 4/29, she proceeds to go off and tell me that "somebody" had told her it had shipped on the 23rd, I calmly informed her that per the notes on the account she had been told on the 27th that the handset was backordered and offered a loaner phone, which she declined, then told on the first that the rep couldn't look up the info due to system issues, she then got all up in arms and actually said "If I was white you coulda looked it up." I just had a cingular rep transfer a customer to me, because she demanded to speak with somebody from AT&T. As I am a TDMA rep, that meant me. The rep got no information, did not inquire as to the issue, and so, when the lady came on the line, I was so very pleased to inform her that I have nothing to do with the company that gives her home phone service, nor do I know anything about them. No I cannot transfer you, no I do not have a number. I am sure I could have found one, this lady was so incredulous at me, I didn't feel like it. "How can you not help me? You ARE AT&T, aren'tcha?"

Ahem

NO!!! 👿

Or the people who escalate over the fact we cannot view the numbers of the incoming calls. Yeah, that's right, keep pushin', 'til you're all the way to the CEO. HE'LL find those numbers for you!
