Burning out while my cares fade away....

Does anyone else experience the depressed state of being fed up with this job and just not caring anymore?I mean, when I first started this job I was all gung ho,"gonna do all my shifts and overtime and be a great CSR!!" and for the first little while,I did all that. Then, boom,Cingular Merger, which made 70% of my training useless,AND they took our overtime options away."Oh well,"I state"I'll still do a great job,I can learn,I can handle it"....boy,was I wrong.Nobody tells anyone anything around here, and when they DO tell someone something, its either twisted, wrong, bullshit,or all the above.Reps lie to custs,I get to clean up THEIR mess like its MY fault(and the custs usally make it a point to remind me of this)and get bitched at all day while I...

not sure, they say the average life of a call center rep is about 2 years,if your gung ho after 1 and a half theres something seriously wrong with you.
me im in the same boat , im not sure about you, but i seriously am clinically depressed, some days when you have 6 hours left of a shift you just want to leave and go to sleep.i have anxiety attacks and have to sign off because i cant breath..
its best to send an email to your sup letting them know whats going on, then let your hr dept know so its on file. see a doctor and get a note, this way for your e-days and lates, you wont look like some scumbag rep who doesnt care and comes in when he/she wants..
you will get time off for medical it will be covered, but only after like 3 or 4 week...

no kidding-i've been looking for another job and when I tell them where I currently work-you see a lot of sympathy! It's a lot of BS for too little pay-I often wish they'd offer Vol. Go Home, but I can't really afford it

exactly , wireless care centers go to poor communities with little to no employment opportunities to ensure low after training attrition. its a business move.

STRESS? đŸ˜ŗ What Stress? đŸ˜ĸ I'm depressed because of stress. Constant headache. and it's like there's nothing I can do. Ends don't meet cuz the pay ain't enough and the environment is SO unstable. Just when you learn to do something well, you'll come into work the next day and someone will yell at you because Cingular chnged the rules the day before but didn't tell any one. So what you've been doing well at is suddenly the wrong thing to do. Seriously how does that work? If you raise a kid telling them "Don't pick your nose! Don't pick your nose!" then all of a sudden they turn 10 and you tell them "pick your nose, or I'll spank you!" that poor kid is going to be so confused and not know what the hell to do!

not paid except accrued vacation pay< i did get room and board plus living expenses from mother in law, but also worked 18-20 hr days-> sacrifices for family, 😕 and lived out of town as well... so most importantly no pay, but it was great for self wellness to get out of a call centre and appreciate the small things in life, plus your soul is refreshed enough to come back to the grind with lower stress, at least up to now.... 😉

ok i am on short term right now not for depression or anything for helth problems (diabetes)since you work in canada i dont know how it will work but if you can do this go to yuor family doc or shrink whatever and have them sign a short term paper from broadspire or who ever you guys use ! or you can use fmla for depression or anxiety and depending on how your dr fills it out you can take time off from work up to 12 weeks per year for you illness or depression that will insure that you can keep your job and not get any disipline on your file. If you take short term you get paid 100% for the first 2 weeks and then 60 % thereafter up to 6months per year hope this help and hang in there
