Who got screwed on the repref?

Well the schedule changes came out today. The con screwed people again. NO chairs were thrown this time. I got sent back to nights after I was begged to switch to days and shifted my whole life around to work days and to try and please the client and the con. I see the whole picture now. We are just a number here. The con doesnโ€™t give a damn how they affect peopleโ€™s lives with these changes. Iโ€™ve never seen a bigger bunch of ungrateful a**holes in my whole life. Time to quit, people have already walked out, some that are still here are crying and stuff, I guess Iโ€™ll go join them.

what about labor standards in your state/province, and notice in advance of shift changes?

they give us notice... a few weeks even. The thing is that no notice can prepare a mother or father who has to take care of their children at certain hours. Or somebody who has been on one schedule for a few years and has it flipped around. Last repref over 200 walked out of the Halifax centre in one day. This one will be similar I suspect. Some of the changes do not make sense, its like they are out to get rid of employees who make more then the minimum. If a schedule change can bring a bunch of people to tears because they know they need to find a new job, something isn't right.

I know they give us notice but even 4 weeks notice is no excuse to treat empolyees this way. Last time this happend in Hlaifax chairs and headsets were thrown and s*it got ugly. They really are out to get rid of people. It's call the Peter Principle where the employee's job gets so bad and stressful, that they quit. Slave is totally right, things aren't right here. There are rumors that they are trying to get rid of at least 250 who make, what they feel, is too much money so they throw the 3 year people back to nights after they worked their ass off for 3 years to get to a pay level that's above poverty only to be told that they are worth anything to the company.

sounds like HR and ops managers should take a 100% pay cut and work 16-18 hr days during the transition to glimpse what it is like, your centre sounds crappy, come to regina, we have an ocean like halifax(except it is made of wheat)

Yeah,I got screwed too,and I am hoping for a mass walk/freak out,but I doubt that it will happen,as rumor has it that they've come up with certain measures in the way that the break the news so that people won't freak out like last time.Is everyone on this thread in The Halifax center? Me,I just got on days not even 3 months ago, arranged my school schedule and was very happy with my hours and start times, then along comes the big Cingular needle to bust my bubble. And yeah, sure, they give us notice, lots of it in fact, but what sort of notice is it,really, when your basicly told "yeah, your schedule will change but we can't tell you what it will change to until such and such a day"? Big bunches of bullshit,I say.Help a guy out,I don't know many,but...

They did, they gave 4 weeks notice, since they give you a chance to make arrangements and babysitters etc...

This is an intelligent answer that must have taken considerable thought on your part. Obviously you don't pay rent, bills etc and you don't get the whole "forum" thing

Shoo! Go away. BOX, I've been reading your posts on Cingular forum and whereever else, and I have come to 2 conclusions:

1) You are a mostly competent representative. Keep up the good work!, and

2) You are kinda rude, and very good at rousing the rabble, for no good reason.

I don't like you much, THE_BOX. Not at all. Go away

LOL Eloi. Funny but kinda cruel.

Not to brag, but I got my shifts kept the same. But then again not many people want my 6:45 -3:15 shift. There are about 8-10 people with my shift and they can't afford to lose anyone.

Re-preferencing: when you submit a shift preference along with all the others in your center, and they give you a shift based on your performance as an agent.

ya well one of my friends who's been here for 3.5 years and only makes $11.02 i'd like to add; was on the 9am shift for the last 2 years and now she's pissed because she got 1:30s. Company doesnt care much about anything, only about numbers, and new reps like are just a stat. I'm gonna start answering the calls using my number instead of my name.
